As a certified massage therapist and naturopathic medicine consultant, Erin Everett believes in holistic healing methods that incorporate herbal medicine, nutrition, fitness, and massage therapy. She focuses on the latter at Tranquil Healing and Massage, where her massage services include a full-body Swedish session designed to gently ease muscle soreness. Aside from this traditional modality, Erin soothes muscles with medical massages that work to decrease pain and improve the range of motion in a targeted area. She sometimes enhances her sessions with warm bamboo sticks that knead out kinks or hot stones that melt tension with warmth and pressure. Erin's menu of services doesn’t stop at massages, however. Her purifying spa facials improve skin health, and her nutritional consultations warn against attempts to swallow the hot stones after a massage.
Certified massage therapist Jenny Bauer took graduate classes at The Holistic Wellness Academy. And today, if one of her former teachers wanted to check on her or give her a pop quiz, they wouldn’t have to travel far. That’s because Bauer’s massage studio is located roughly eight blocks from the school. There, along with Steffany Parris, Samantha Wardlow, and Laura Pearman, she doles out relaxation and prenatal massages for 30, 60, or 90 minutes to release tension and stress.
The treatments tables at Pure Solace Massage & Bodyworks are comfortable enough for clients to sink into. They relax for up to two hours at a time while massage therapists knead away at tight muscles and achy areas. Therapists use their hands during therapeutic massages and their feet during ashiatsu massages.
At Masters Salon, skilled stylists, aestheticians, and therapists envelop guests in a cloak of indulgent salon treatments certified by Redken and Pureology. As artisans sculpt dos for men, women, children, and their identical Russian dolls, nail techs cosset hands and feet with heated whirlpool chairs and OPI polish, and aestheticians deploy their arsenal of Bioelements facials. To round out the service menu, massage therapists perform full-body and hot-stone massages to make stress melt like a floating candle in a lava pit. The salon accommodates clients of all schedules with an 8 p.m. closing time Monday through Friday and Saturday hours.
