  • Warm Heart Massage Therapy
Before she could treat other women’s bodily ailments, Taylor had to learn to care for her own. She was training as a dancer and learning to deal with the impact of both physical pain and mental stress on her body. She noted that massage had a remarkable ability to encourage her body's natural chemicals to reduce stress, improve mood, and even ease pain. Inspired to provide hands-on care to other women, she enrolled at the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork, training in Swedish, deep-tissue, and trigger-point therapy. Her specialty, however, quickly became prenatal and postpartum massage. Today, she regularly works with expectant and new moms, and can even attend labor, delivery, and stork flyovers. She exclusively works with women in her standard massages as well, and takes pride in a sense of intuition that helps her customize each massage to each customer.

  • Certified Rolfer Jed Bentley
Since everyone experiences life through one medium?their bodies?professional Rolfer Jed Bentley uses his hands-on skills to ensure those bodies are in good working order. As a certified Rolfer, Jed has studied the ways in which all parts of the body are connected, and he knows how to correct ailments with manual adjustments of the fascia?the body's connective tissue. When fascia constricts, it causes bodily pain and poor posture. Once it has been adjusted during a Rolfing session, the body can stand taller and straighter without any additional effort and with less pain. Jed emphasizes that Rolfing addresses emotional troubles as well as physical ones?clients should be open to long-lasting emotional change as well as physical, usually within a few months. Clients who wish to better acquaint themselves with the Rolfing process can peruse the FAQ here.

  • Bodywork by Bhaskar
Bhaskar Banerji still remembers where he was when he decided to become a healer. He was sitting down for another one of his Western and Non-Western Medicine classes at the University of Michigan when that day?s lecture on polarity therapy began. The lesson did more than just captivate him?it inspired him. And so, over the course of the next 25 years, he went on to practice energy healing, study shiatsu and Swedish massage at the National Holistic Institute, and travel to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to hone the art of Thai massage at the Sunshine Network. Upon returning to the states, he bolstered his experiences with a master?s in holistic-health education from JFK University. Today, Banerji teaches Thai massage at the McKinnon Institute, sharing his insights during both beginner and intermediate classes. In class, he shows his students how to rotate joints, stretch muscles, apply pressure, and cut blue wires even when the red ones seem like the obvious choice. And of course, he also offers Thai massages for those who want to simply relax and enjoy the soothing combination of yogic movements and breema modalities.
