Behind the pink curtains that accent Salon Miracles’ storefront windows, proprietor Judy Moon has created a tranquil haven for beauty and spa services. Stylists perform haircuts, color, and texturing treatments as aestheticians manicure fingers and toes, wax away unwanted body hair, and administer high-tech anti-aging treatments and reviving facials. In addition to her work at Salon Miracles, Judy offers spiritual readings and organizes open-mic nights at her adjacent business, Angel Moon Café. Judy also creates handmade angel and cross jewelry.
No two treatments at Michigan Advanced Aesthetics are quite alike. The experienced aestheticians and skin specialist know just how to customize a facial or chemical peel for a client's specific set of issues, from wrinkles to acne to melasma (dark patches of skin). The team of nurses can also administer injectables like Botox, perhaps during a private party at the spa.
Other treatments work together to deliver results. Microdermabrasion, for example, can combine with a peel to fight signs of aging and give pores a message that says "we're watching you." The center also touts the benefits of Advanced Dermapen Collagen Induction, which relies on tiny needles to help stimulate collagen production across the body.
Since opening the doors of their first location in 1997, Club Soleil has bronzed more than 46,000 Detroiters. The staff constantly switches out the lamps in the salon's collection of seven levels of beds and stand-up booths to keep tan times quick and the sun on its toes. For a UV-free glow, automated misting booths distribute 5 ounces of Magic Tan solution through 36 individual jets that coat the body evenly from head to toe. Certified tanning associates educate clients on the risks and benefits of each system as well as products for moisturizing the skin and extending the life of the tan.
Years of searching for painless and effective hair-removal technology led Dr. Granowicz to the Aesthera PPx system. At Medical Laser Aesthetics, PLLC, he and his staff prevent hair from slowly taking over bodies by using Aesthera’s noninvasive, wand-like device to flash low levels of intense pulsed light on treatment areas, causing camera-shy hairs to flee the scene. During the hair-removal process, the Aesthera PPx system soothes skin with a mist of pure water, rather than relying on aesthetic lotions or anesthetic creams. Other than whisking away unneeded bodily fleece, the center’s technicians also use the powerful device to rejuvenate damaged skin, treat acne, and chime in at Pink Floyd laser-light shows. Regardless of the aesthetic need, the practitioners at Medical Laser Aesthetics work with clients to create personalized treatment plans.
