After living everywhere from Washington, DC, to Guatemala, the owners of Urban Moves wound up in Columbus, and decided to pursue their passion for fitness and entrepreneurship. They bought the gym from its previous owner, and transformed it into a membership-free fitness studio dedicated exclusively to exercisers working with trainers, either one-on-one or in group classes.
In the boutique studio, the team of personal trainers designs programs to suit their clients’ goals, whether they want to complete a 5K race or take a bite from the famed nougat peak of Mount Everest. The troupe also hosts a variety of group classes in a wide range of exercise modalities, from gentle yoga to high-tech Power Plate training—a bona fide miracle of modern science that shapes muscles through vibration.
The Glo Run?s 5K fun run event always takes place at night, but it doesn?t seem like it. The course is lined with black lights and lasers, and runners sport glow-in-the-dark gear from t-shirts to sunglasses. On-course DJs add to the festivities, blasting tunes as the untimed participants run, walk, or dance to the finish line. Even more DJs await them there at the glow-in-the-dark after party, which lights up the night better than a raccoon that's swallowed a flashlight.
Springboard and foam-board floors, a running track, and trampolines fill the 27,000-square-foot gym that Ohio Twistars calls home. Its staff of professional cheerleading coaches teach students aged 3–18 tumbling, stunting, and other spirited moves on the springy surfaces while also imparting intangibles such as confidence, poise, and self-discipline. In addition to weekly classes, they host cheerleading summer camps and kickboxing and Zumba workouts.

Horace Henriot played his first polo match in Belgium at the ripe young age of 13. By the age of 19, he’d attained pro status in the U.S. Over the years, Horace has played competitively all over Europe and the U.S.—but at Play Polo LLC, his focus shifts from competition to teaching. Horace not only instructs newcomers on the ins and outs of polo and horseback riding but also supplies necessary gear and ponies for matches.
Facilitating the fan-delighting collision of comic-book universes and intergalactic heroes, Wizard World organizes Comic Cons and pop-culture conventions across the continent. At each event, stars from the silver screen set down roots in booths across the convention floor, wielding markers for autographs and their photo-op-ready smiles. Past guests have run the gamut from William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, and the cast of AMC?s The Walking Dead. Away from the crowds, stars also participate in talks and Q&A panels as part of the event?s programming. Along with beloved actors, Wizard World?s conventions grant guests a chance to interact with writers and artists as well as partake in activities such as gaming tournaments and costume contests.
