Fase Fitness is essentially two gyms in one. Half of the rectangular workout space houses a strip of artificial turf for very real agility and conditioning drills; the other displays fitness equipment such as kettlebells, medicine balls, climbing ropes, and punching bags. Certified personal trainers Dominick Raymond and Greg Levato make use of both sides while coaching clients of all ability levels. Their engaging boot-camp classes provide full-body workouts with regularly changing routines. Other sessions include cardio kickboxing and Kid Fit, which is a more effective way for children to get in shape than carrying three dictionaries in a backpack.
A joint venture between a professional boxer and a team of successful kickboxing-equipment tycoons, Title Boxing Club maintains a network of dozens of studios spread across 19 different states, winning over a devoted clientele with its invigorating and engaging boxing- and kickboxing-themed classes. Each workout uses the heart-healthy exercise of cardio training to satisfy people’s innate desire to punch and kick something other than a broken jukebox. Participants build lithe, strong muscle tissue by delivering powerful blows to punching bags, and build flexibility and agility by practicing roundhouse kicks and hooks. Students can build their core strength and endurance with medicine balls and burpees, enlist a qualified personal trainer to practice their newfound skills in the ring, or just torch calories during intense full-body Power Hour workouts.
A slideshow of Midwest Training Center's star fighters depicts them in various states of victory: sporting championship belts, hands raised by crowning referee, or slamming an opponent into the ground. Perhaps they owe their athletic prowess to the 3,000 square feet of space that the training center offers, complete with two fighting cages and one ring. That's where its instructors drill battling skills into fighters and teach MMA classes such as muay thai and Brazilian jujitsu.
All of the trainers at Nate's Premium Athletes hold exercise-science degrees with athletic-training minors. They use this expertise to develop training programs that focus on their clients' individual weaknesses, such as strength, balance, and agility. So far, the trainers have worked with more than 85 Division I athletes.

The sky's the limit at Flying Buddha Fitness. Or, perhaps more appropriately, the ceiling is. Aerial yoga is one of the fitness studio's specialties, and challenges students to perform traditional yoga moves while suspended in fabric hammocks that are attached to the ceiling. It sounds both exhilarating and exhausting, but the method is actually quite accessible for students of all fitness levels. The hammocks are hung close to the ground, so beginners can feel safe as they learn how to use the fabric to maneuver in-and-out of poses, support their body weight, and make old workout clothes feel stylish again, while experienced aerial yogis can work their way up to performing acrobatic maneuvers such as inversions and flips.
Of course, Flying Buddha has plenty of classes for those who prefer to stay on the ground as well. The schedule features everything from meditative vinyasa yoga sessions to upbeat turbo kick and piloxing classes. And, although challenging workouts abound, the studio maintains a family-friendly vibe, as evidenced by its array of youth classes and Friday night family fitness sessions.
Champions Boxing Gym's team of tenacious instructors help clients hone strength, speed, and discipline through a range of boxing and martial arts classes. There are co-ed boxing classes, but some lessons are geared specifically toward women or children. Learn to fight MMA-style in their submission grappling class, or take a more advanced sparring class if you've got a little experience under your belt. Kenpo karate and kickboxing round out the class selection. The spacious gym is filled with speed bags, heavy bags, and bags that are programmed to say "ouch" when you hit them.
