Willis Music’s staff of dedicated musicians taps into the shop's century in business to guide fellow melody makers of all levels among more than 3,000 instruments and a jungle of accessories. Though in-store stock may vary, patrons can peruse racks for catalog items such as a Planet Waves chromatic headstock tuner, which dials in string tension using vibration ($39.99), or they can pacify rampaging folk singers with strums on a ukulele ($37.50+). A Peavey bass amp ($99.99) gives modern and vintage voice to bass guitars, and metal-encased DigiTech effects pedals ($49.99) awaken drowsy ears with four roaring styles of distortion. Customers can beat out rhythms on the skin of a Toca street djembe ($49.90) or browse various other African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, and Irish hand drums captured, tamed, and refurbished by independent craftspeople.
Fast Cars Fine Food culls students from local culinary programs, including The Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State and the Art Institute, and pairs them up with local wineries, breweries, and 20 Cincinnati restaurants for a social evening of sustenance. Two tickets grant access to an array of booths, where students and establishments perform live cooking demonstrations that yield scrumptious samples. Wine-and-cheese tastings paint palates in splashes of red and white accompanied by miniature dairy still lifes. Guests can scribble down bids or truffle-inspired haikus on slips of paper during the silent auction, which benefits the culinary students' education and awards one guest with the chance to don official sous-chef garb and cook beside a local chef.
Here at Loveland Music Academy we are proud to offer private lessons for guitar, piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, harp, percussion, voice and acting with some of the most accomplished music educators in the Greater Cincinnati Area.
Easy as A-B-C, the artists behind Life in Letters craft custom photographic gifts available both in their shop and online. Over the years, they've amassed a vast collection of black-and-white photos of common objects and sights that resemble letters—such as arches, golf balls, fences, and palm trees—which they assemble into meaningful words, such as love, laugh, family, and nihilism. Once customers have chosen their word and selected each letter, they can have their piece matted and framed to suit their own decor or that of a loved one. The photographers also share their skills with aspiring shutterbugs during regular introductory photography classes.
