During a trio of deftly danced works, Miami City Ballet's Program I captures the playful exuberance of Jerome Robbins' Fanfare, the provocative sensuality of George Balanchine's Bugaku, and the high-leaping grandeur of Theme and Variations—Balanchine's opulent ode to tippy-toes set in a dazzling 19th-century ballroom. A veteran of the arts, with more than 15 years of experience, Sarita Ciallella has performed her fair share of gymnastic, dancing, and acting routines. But it wasn't until May 2003 that these passions culminated in Virtuous Productions, a performing-arts community center where she could imbue kids, teens, and adults with her knowledge of the arts. Together with a dedicated staff of instructors, including dancers and acting coaches, Sarita's mission—to teach new artists creative skills in a purposeful and moral way—has never changed. Sarita and her team uphold the center's seven core values: excellence, innovation, teamwork, respect, integrity, social profit, and joy.

The schedule runs six days a week to keep dancers of any age or ability tapping, salsa-ing, and rhythmically stomping their feet across the studio's competition-size floor, which is made of the same material as the floor on Dancing with the Stars. Film and television classes teach aspiring stars how to emote for the camera and how to never lose a staring contest with the camera man, and the company's in-house shooting crew captures special moments with half- and full-day shoots that include editing, DVDs, and makeup applications.

Virtuous Productions also supports the arts through Virtuous Nites, which offer a safe, smoke- and drink-free environment for partiers to let loose and dance.

In a mixed repertory concert, Boca Ballet Theatre’s troupe of dancers flutters and floats across the stage to the choreography of co-artistic director Dan Guin. "Spring Fever" borrows from both classical and contemporary ballet and elicits awe throughout the 520-seat theater with dazzling jazz flourishes, speedy costume changes, and dancers who solve Rubik's cubes with their feet. Guin’s “Bubblin’ Over” strikes modern chords as dancers twirl and pirouette to music by Grammy Award-winning crooner Michael Bublé, and comedic folly injects new life into Ballet Russes’ classic “Graduation Ball.” The lively production also marks a world premiere of Guin's new original work, “Voyage Classique.”

TV stars and pop-rock paragons The Monkees have tickled eardrums and enchanted fans with catchy melodies and clever, sophisticated songwriting for four decades. Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the band's genesis, three of the original four Monkees—Davy Jones, Mickey Dolenz, and Peter Tork—have reunited for the first time in a decade to resurrect such hits as "I'm a Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville," and "Daydream Believer," as well as tunes from their cult-classic film Head. Like a scratch-and-sniff oil painting, the evening promises to be a multisensory experience, as a mélange of Monkees covers, rarely heard tunes, and video clips weaves a pre- and post-performance tapestry of entertainment.

Pro-Am Dance Studio trains students in the art of dance with 25 professional teachers, a wide range of styles, and classes for all ages and levels, all taught in a 5,200-square-foot dance studio. Children as young as 3 can immerse themselves in rhythm with one-hour classes that switch between tap, ballet, and acrobatics, preparing tots for futures performing onstage or leading plucky bands of Juilliard-trained street toughs. Older kids can opt to branch out into other body-moving disciplines such as jazz, hip-hop, and pointe. Adults can take advantage of ballet, yoga, tap, and hip-hop classes, whether they’ve only recently grown their first set of twinkle toes or have spent years honing their skills to distract their feet from the constant mockery of their hands. Classes are scheduled Monday–Saturday, and students can attend as many sessions as they like throughout the duration of their Groupon.
