What sets your business apart from your competition?
Our Philosophy is that all children should be able to learn gymnastics in a non-Competitive atmosphere. Our classes are geared toward specific age groups, and we work with each child individually in a fun-filled program. Our instructors guide children of all Physical capabilities.
What was the inspiration for starting this business?
I was a competitive gymnast for many years and that is not for every child?partly because of the long grueling hours in the gym. I came up with the concept of children learning gymnastics to the best of their ability to gain strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination regardless of their athleticism. These four basics build self confidence for life.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
The staff at the gym are all past students who have grown to love the sport of gymnastics. My staff is dedicated to making every child's dream of learning how to do a cartwheel come true. The manager at the gym has been with us since we opened and is very dedicated to making our families happy.
What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a customer?
_ We have many awesome reactions from the children everyday as they learn each new skill, but our best reaction is when our students grow up and bring their own children._
What?s your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part of my job is when I see a child smile as they learn. There is nothing like a smile on a little one's face to make for a great day!

For 25 years, instructors at Julie's Gym have been guiding kids and teens through noncompetitive curricula. Gymnastics classes and teams abound, but the school also features baby and toddler play groups, tumbling, and karate. There are even fitness classes for grownups. Private and group lessons, camps, and birthday parties at Julie's Gym blend fun, fitness, and education in a supportive environment.
In 1976, educator, musician, and kinesiologist Robin Wes longed for a children's gym that prioritized personal growth over competition. Unveiled at a time when physical-education classes pushed students to focus almost exclusively on winning, Robin's program was swiftly adopted and is now used in more than 300 Little Gyms worldwide. Robin still pens original music to accompany lessons, which engage whippersnappers 4 months old?12 years old with gymnastics, dance, karate, and parent and child activities.
Each of The Little Gym's classes introduces simple movements that sharpen motor skills and set brains whirring, allowing kids to progress at their own pace until they can finally build a computer out of macaroni and glitter. Staff members strive to build a base for lifelong social skills and self-assurance with each exercise, including activities rooted purely in fun, such as summer camps or birthday parties, which helped The Little Gym to earn title of #1 Birthday Chain in Parents magazine.
Though there are many apparatuses inside the gym, the most employed tool at New Image Gymnastics is invisible. That's because it's positive reinforcement—the trainers rely on supportive comments and cheery attitudes as the key source of their students' motivation. This approach applies whether they're coaching toddlers through a padded obstacle course or helping teenagers perfect a competitive routine. Their classes welcome 18-month- to 18-year-olds, and the fully trained staff monitors each student as he or she builds strength, balance, and self-esteem.
