Todd Stewart, a seasoned stylist whose past includes a stint at Paramount Studios, leads a team of hairdressers that have each honed their skills through years spent in the industry and through a rigorous in-salon Skill Certification program. Tight-knit team members arm themselves with a multitude of high-quality products from brands that include Moroccanoil, Tigi, and Todd Stewart's signature line.

After a thorough consultation with each client, they go to work crafting new ’dos, freshening up current looks, or modeling manes after the customer’s favorite city skyline. Services range from basic cuts to the salon’s specialty color treatments, which are administered by Schwarzkopf-trained colorists.

With numerous accolades, including a feature in Aesthetic Trends & Technologies and the achievement of platinum injector status by Botox-creator Allergan, Renu Medispa polishes images both inside and out through a slate of technology-driven aesthetic treatments and weight-loss services. Paramedical aestheticians and seasoned aesthetic-laser operators harness years of training and advanced laser devices to ease specific skin and body issues ranging from acne and fine lines to unwanted hair and excess weight.

Before choosing a treatment, in-depth skin-analysis services can use digital imaging and computer programs to determine the type, condition, and political leanings of a client's skin to devise a custom treatment program, which can include hands-on or light-based facial treatments to brighten each skin cell and leave complexions youthful and radiant.

The brick storefront that houses Salon 162 has been a destination for style since the 1980s, when it first earned repute as a popular barbershop. Things have certainly changed since then, but not so much as they might appear. Star-shaped lamps, bright yellow furniture, and local artwork have replaced the peppermint barber pole, but owner Nancy still holds fast to the longstanding tradition of good grooming. She and her team of stylists cut, color, and highlight hair with professional products from Pureology. A firm believer in keeping up with the times, Nancy enrolls in yearly trainings to learn the newest techniques for smoothing hair and ushering confused bees out of beehive hairdos.

The staff of Panache Aveda Hair Studio & Day Spa is proud to call its clinic an Aveda concept spa—a name only bestowed on select spas that exemplify the Aveda company standards for professional services and refined beauty practices. Armed with Aveda's advanced haircare and skincare products, the seasoned specialists administer a variety of services, from soothing facials to chic haircuts to luxurious hot-stone massages. And during many of their decadent spa packages, they treat clients to freshly made lunches of sandwiches, wraps, and cheese trays in between massages, scrubs, and pedicures. The atmosphere at Panache reflects the studio's name, too. Inside, you'll find textured glass, a wall of stones chipped from the boulder of Sisyphus, and a circular tufted chair that sits boldly, defiantly, beneath a grand chandelier's quiver of purple and green icicles.

Committed to helping clients maintain both healthy and attractive selves, the staff opens its salon to regular boot-camp and yoga classes. Certified instructors lead the classes in a fully equipped studio behind the spa.

The three massage therapists at Olga’s Deep Tissue Massage specialize in utilizing firm pressure and working deep into the muscle tissue to treat aches, pains, and tensions from watching a baby bird attempt flight for the first time. Allen Simpson, a member of the trio, is an 11-year massage veteran, known for his expertise in relieving tension in and around the shoulder blade, and for his signature massage maneuver, the “neck spider” technique.

On their home page, the staff relays a story about a strong Swedish woman, a farm-hand, a butcher’s assistant, and a cook, whose massage prowess helped a Swedish Olympian to win a major weightlifting competition. The story may or may not be true and may or may not have served as the inspiration for the studio’s focus on deep-tissue massage work.
