Keeping the business in the family for more than 50 years, the sons of Conte's Bike Shop founder Charles R. Conte run the collection of cycle-centric shops with attention to personal service and a constant stock of top-notch bikes and equipment. Conte's technicians specialize in Body Geometry fittings, in which they observe how skeletons work in tandem with cycling movements and demonstrate how to avoid typical discomforts. Holding true to an individualized focus, the team also understands how to fit bikes for women and provides detailed guides that help cyclists choose the right set of wheels. A full-service center, the shop also provides cardio and fitness equipment and executes services such as bike tune-ups, drivetrain overhauls, and brake adjustments that ensure riders can stop on a dime, pick it up, and buy a Chiclet without ever dismounting.

Spreading the game of golf since 1904, the Virginia State Golf Association’s VIP card program grants duffers access to more than 200 courses for the duration of 2011. At each participating club, VIP-card bearers simply pay the cart-rental fee (up to $26 per round) to traverse emerald alleyways on a cross-state quest for hard-won birdies, elusive holes in one, and the secret flagstick leading to Space Jam’s space-time continuum. Along with access to an array of golf-friendly grassy monoliths, VIPs also receive a VSGA eClub membership, with which they can post scores to track their Handicap Index, participate in remaining 2011 VSGA One-Day events, and receive the Nov/Dec issue of Virginia Golfer magazine while charting their mercurial rise to the rarefied status of scratch golfer. Like your prized collection of artisan cheeses, the VIP card expires at the end of the year.
To create Peak Experiences, the dedicated staff sets more than 125 top-rope routes, lead climbs, and bouldering problems for climbers of all skill levels. Five levels of classes and safety training spanning basic problems such as climbing a bunk bed to lead climbing a 50-foot wall prepare climbers to conquer any of these problems, and the gym also outfits its members with an onsite gear shop that stocks harnesses, footwear, and belay devices such as grigris or ATCs. Kids can also learn climbing skills during youth programs that invite children aged 5–18 and young rocks aged 3,000,000–4,500,000 to climb together with camps, teams, and trips.
Studio X's exotic dancing lessons offer twofold benefits. The first is physical; students quickly burn calories and build core strength by following the regimen detailed in the studio's pole-fitness and dance classes. The second benefit is the increased self-confidence that students build while stretching and shimmying in a supportive environment that, like Oprah's tree fort, is for women only. Men aren't completely left out, however?Studio X also hosts separate pole and aerial fitness classes for guys.
The eight-week Resolutions program starts people on the path to toned cores and limber limbs with a 30-minute orientation, wherein a trainer helps set fitness goals and discusses the exercise needed to meet them. You’ll check in with this trainer weekly to ensure you’re progressing faster than the speed at which electricity flows through copper wiring. It won’t be difficult to bulk up or slim down with access to ACAC’s indoor fitness facilities. In addition to an indoor track, there are more than 75 pieces of strength equipment such as free weights, cable machines, and vases filled with sand. The cardio equipment is built for sweat-seekers, heckling the chatterboxes lingering around the water fountain with more than 80 treadmills, stationary bicycles, cross trainers, and step machines, each with its own television for tuning into commercials for reverse jetpacks. Childcare is available.
