Ongoing education keeps Studio 4 staff up-to-date on hair and makeup trends, as well as safe products and techniques. Stylists spritz hair with gentle sulfate- and paraben-free products from brands such as Kevin Murphy and Unite, and aestheticians custom-blend skincare concoctions to pamper acne-prone or menopausal skin. In addition, feather extensions supply locks with avian flair, and Brazilian-blowout keratin treatments smooth frizzy strands by up to 90%, with results visible on Studio 4’s before-and-after page or in bowls of suspiciously flattened rigatoni noodles.
Bella Fontana Spa beautifies the whole body, from head to toe. Hair services employ products from Surface and Aloxxi. Facial treatments cater to sensitive, acne-prone, and mature skin, and permanent-makeup applications perfect pouts and accentuate eyes. The spa also offers detoxifying treatments for the body, stress-reducing massages, and waxing services. Even the tips of toes are catered to with pedicures.
At Tim Jon Salon, stylists recharge their client’s looks with a bevvy of salon and day spa services. Haircuts kickstart beautifying makeovers that are complemented by color treatments and Brazilian Blowouts from products by Kerastase and Shu Uemura. In the day spa, technicians perform waxing and deluxe mani-pedis as well as eyelash extensions. The stylists also offer formal up-dos and bridal consultations to help brides prepare for their big day.

Lexxy Leigh knows her way around a head of hair. Her extensive list of services—performed exclusively at Salons of Volterra at Stonebridge Ranch—included everything from trims and highlights to Brazilian blowouts and Venus Hair Extensions. In fact, she shines in the extension department, choosing Venus because it requires a delicate touch, but no heat, to fuse to the hair without damaging it.
Even with all her expertise, it’s the people she gets to work with that keeps her coming back. "My favorite part of my job is giving someone that instant transformation, seeing that big smile on their face, and knowing I did that," she says. "That's why I’ve stayed in the business for 20-plus years!"
Lori Cohea began her career as a stylist and colorist 15 years ago, and sculpted dos everywhere from salons to make-over television shows. By the time she arrived at Rayfield & Company, she had settled on her specialty as a colorist and her preference in products. Lori uses an all-organic line of coloring agents that are free from ammonia to imbue hair with rich color while leaving cuticles healthy. And her experience hasn't gone unnoticed. Her skilled highlighting and deft tinting earned her a nod from D-Magazine in 2002 as the Best Trend-Setting Stylist at the well-known salon where she worked.
