Hands On's therapeutic massage uses medium pressure that’s not too hard, not too soft, and offers enough muscle relaxation to satisfy the tensest of goldilocked humans or bear trios. This massage combines techniques from the Swedish massage—designed to relieve stress and improve circulation—and the firmer, more intense deep-tissue massage, which counters your genetic predisposition to feel pain.

At Elements Therapeutic Massage, studio manager Susan Comer's team of massage therapists draws upon a wealth of knowledge amassed through international training experience and massage-therapy-school stints. Stationed inside earth-toned massage rooms with dim lighting, soft music, and the calming presence of a dozen cooing doves, therapists prod knots and release tension using four pressure levels, exercising massage techniques such as deep tissue, prenatal, and Swedish. Post massage, the staff eases clients out of their relaxation reveries and as bodies rehydrate and develop a feeling of overall restoration.
Joshua Lemmens always knew he wanted to help others. Two years of medical school launched Joshua's vocational journey before he decided to join the U.S. Air Force. After eight years of contributing to the health and safety of the country, he again switched gears and became an entertainer, singing and lifting spirits in Vegas and beyond. When Joshua's mother fell ill, however, he immediately stopped his travels and began learning the art of massage in order to help her feel better.
In 2011, Joshua collaborated with Tuscany Suites & Casino to open La Riva Massage and Spa, located inside the hotel's fitness center (between hotel buildings "I" and "K"). In both of La Riva's two massage rooms, guests relax atop heated massage tables as therapists use their nationally certified and state-licensed hands to relieve tension and ease pain. Clients can customize their sessions by choosing a male or female therapist and dialing into their preferred Pandora stations.
Because Joshua puts a big emphasis on relaxation, La Riva Massage and Spa often schedules a 30-minute window between sessions. This way, guests don't feel rushed out the door and therapists have enough time to massage each other's massaging hands.
HALO [FOR MEN] is no ordinary salon. There are no female clients, which means no girly magazines (expect Guns & Ammo, Maxim, and the Wall Street Journal), no girly smells (HALO [FOR MEN] smells exactly like Michael Jordan after Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals), and no girly discussions (if you must converse, you are limited to talking about classic episodes of Columbo). Plus, there’s always a movie, CNN, or ESPN playing on HALO's high-definition TVs, providing a mega-dose of man-friendly entertainment.
When Leslee Wilburn realized Las Vegas lacked a family-friendly massage practice, she decided to open one herself and found the perfect name, fittingly, in her young daughter, Kaela. Kaela’s middle name, Ilan, means family tree and symbolizes the philosophy Wilburn founded her massage studio on, namely the aim to teach people of all ages the benefits of massage. Whether receiving a massage or learning how to give one, families can spend quality relaxation time together within Wilburn’s space.
A licensed and nationally certified massage therapist, Wilburn performs massages for kids and adults in a candlelit treatment room. While she eases parents' quotidian stress, children wait their turn in a cozy, home-like lounge area complete with a television and comfortable sofas. During kids' massages, Wilburn helps young muscles and joints develop balance and coordination, and she relieves the stress accumulated from cooking dinner day in and day out with plastic toy food. She also teaches massage classes for couples or new moms and hosts Massage n' Mingle parties where guests set up their own food and drink in the refreshment area to celebrate birthdays or ladies nights out.
