Designed as a less taxing version of the Oyster Urban Race, this adrenaline-packed relay leads racers with brawny bods and street savvy on a covert mission to uncover mysterious challenges around the city in the fastest time possible. Contestants lace up sneakers, stretch rock-hard winter muscles, and flip on their noggins, as this race combines athletic prowess with brain-stimulating strategy. Racers will be given a passport containing five checkpoint locations where they must meet physical trials such as running, biking, climbing, and paddling while simultaneously deciphering clues and completing challenging tasks. Destinations may be located at city sites such as public parks, stadiums, amusement parks, shopping centers, fitness clubs, zoos, retail stores, dining establishments, high-rise buildings, and any other landmark a pop-culture movie-monster might invade. For the challenges, competitors may be asked to complete an obstacle course, solve puzzles, bowl, brave a rollycoaster, slip 'n' slide, tube in a river, or even chug a beer, and the course they take to arrive at the check point is completely up to them.

At Kaia F.I.T. Lafayette, a team of expert fitness coaches retrain bodies with dynamic workouts designed to strengthen muscles, boost energy, and vanquish fat. They root their F.I.T. sessions in functional training, a method that enlists athletes' own body weight and movement to stimulate fitness. They also ramp up their regular F.I.T. program during Brik boot camps, in which students sweat through ever-changing routines to keep their bodies in better shape than fad diets or preserving them in amber for swimsuit season would. Although each program ranges in intensity and length, all workouts and moves can be modified to suit the fitness level of any client. Certified personal trainer Julie Tubbesing is a one-woman gym. She transports weights, kettlebells, resistance bands, and even music to her clients' homes, planning customized and private workouts in the comfort of their yard or living area. These sessions rely on a mix of fast-paced cardio intervals and functional strength exercises. However, Julie adjusts the program depending on each person's goals, and has coached her pupils toward toned muscles as well as dramatic fat loss—some of her past clients have shed more than 50 pounds. For those who would prefer a different setting, she also hosts appointments in a fully equipped studio.
