At GPP Fitness, instructors guide exercisers through tough yet simple workouts that transform bodies and burn away extra weight. Kettlebells, crunches, and runs may leave muscles sore, but they combine for an efficient training program that helps exercisers quickly achieve their fitness goals.
The Sewing Parlour is one of Salt Lake City's first sewing lounges, offering classes in a comfortable and friendly environment for thread-bearers of all cuts. Both the sewing class and the sewing series instruct novices in machine- and hand-sewing techniques. Topics taught in the sewing class include getting to know your machine, sewing seams and curves, closing a patient after minor surgery, and making your first project. Those who elect the five-class series will learn more extensively about commercial patterns, cutting, methods of construction, pressing, and use of tools and notions (accessories). The class builds toward the construction of a final project, a kimono-style robe or top using a commercial pattern. The cost of the pattern is included in the course fee, but students will need to provide the materials, including about 4 yards of fabric (usually around $1–$8 per yard). Classes and workshops are limited to five participants to ensure everyone receives ample attention and can go out after class to play pickup basketball. Use The Sewing Parlour's machines or bring your own.

Red Butte Gardens was recognized in 2009 by ParentsConnect as the best tourist spot in Salt Lake City. With properly mannered gardens as well as natural areas, this verdant oasis charms humans, honeybees, and wood sprites of all ages. Exercise the body's primary olfactory organ on the Floral Walk, which provides exclusive access to such botanical hotspots as the Rose Garden, the Fragrance Garden, and the Children’s Garden. Visitors who prefer nature with its grasses untamed and nails unmanicured should proceed directly to the natural area, where trails connected by less than six degrees of separation lead to canyon overlooks, creeks, and quarry houses.
Fusing the graceful gestures of ballet and Pilates, the Xtend Barre workout challenges all body parts through a series of isometric exercises and orthopedic stretches. The briskly paced, 55-minute workout sculpts and lengthens muscles in the style of traditional Pilates while also increasing one's awareness of posture and the prevalence of squirrels in pink tutus. Xtend's torso-twisting staff will help sculpt bodies proportionally, toning arms, thighs, and lifted derrieres, and can modify workouts for beginners, prenatal clients, or clients with injuries. Offering classes seven days a week, Xtend Barre SLC asks students to arrive for class sporting either socks (grip socks recommended) or suction-bottomed toe rings.
