“People come to Montana to see the mountains,” says Nancy Dawson, one of the innkeepers at Fox Hollow Bed and Breakfast. “And we’ve got the views.” They certainly do—the snowcapped peaks of the Bridger Mountains are on full display from the wraparound porch of the Craftsman-style inn that Nancy runs with her husband, Mike. The Dawsons are experienced hosts, having run the B & B for 18 years while also living onsite.
A self-proclaimed “cookbook junkie,” Nancy often uses recipes from her collection to craft a complimentary gourmet breakfast each morning. Guests taste the fruits of her labor in entrees such as oven-puffed pancakes, apple-cinnamon french toast, and oven-baked fiesta omelets. Upstairs, country-chic guest rooms boast private bathrooms and mountain views. In The Peaks room, three large picture windows overlook the Bridger Mountains, and close-up views of the birds and foxes that frequent the grounds can be seen from many a window.
Doctor of Chiropractic Phillip Aumann completed chiropractic school in 1985 and has since then been taking a two-pronged approach to health and wellness. The first approach is immediate relief, and at Bozeman Family Chiropractic, he uses multiple techniques to get to the root of the patient's problem. These include the diversified technique and the Thompson Terminal Point technique, which utilizes a specialized segmented drop table that encourages quick-and-effective spinal adjustments. But Dr. Aumann also believes in a proactive approach to wellness that emphasizes prevention. To that end, he and his colleagues offer education, continued chiropractic adjustments, and supplemental treatments such as massage therapy to help the body build strength and fight off disease and ailments before they become bigger problems.
Although Tami Dern helps her clients reduce their stress levels and strengthen their immune systems, she's not a counselor or a doctor. She's a certified massage therapist. At The Body Shop Massages, clients lie on Tami's heated massage table while she intuitively seeks out muscle knots. To enhance the health benefits of bodywork sessions, she includes organic essential oils and aromatherapy and may add ultramoisturizing paraffin hand dips or deep-heat treatments at clients' request. After massages, Tami discusses the experience with clients and advises them to drink lots of water to hydrate muscles and camel humps.
