Live Long Health Group organizes basketball leagues and fitness clubs, helping members of the community stay in shape through fun activities. Friendly competition abounds in junior, high school, and adult basketball leagues, and a women's fitness club alternates badminton, volleyball, basketball, and boot-camp sessions.
Three regulation-size volleyball courts, two artificial turf fields, and one fully boarded sport floor surface sprawl across Canlan Sportsplex's 55,000 square feet of space, creating an indoor haven for everything from soccer to ball hockey, regardless of the season. Although the facility allows visitors to rent any of the fields, rinks, or courts, it also offers drop-in times for guests seeking a quick pickup match. Recreational leagues meet throughout the year, and the complex's staff even hosts occasional clinics that help casual enthusiasts as well as serious competitors refine their skills, techniques, and endorsement-negotiating tactics. In its ceiling, the facility features nine large doors that protect visitors from the elements, but can also be opened during the warmer months to transform the space into an open-air sports center.
Vaughan Sportsplex sprawls its diversified athletic facilities across a 20,000-square-foot plot of land on Woodbridge's Westcreek Drive. Competitive and recreational athletes report to three indoor sports fields to engage in myriad sports from friendly touch football sessions on FIFA-rated X-Treme turf to more unique diversions such as full-field Nerf dart lazer tag. Vaughan Sportsplex also organizes league competition open to nearly all ages and skill levels, including adult competition in co-ed volleyball or men's soccer as well as kids' leagues in floor hockey and competitive sand-castle demolition.
The folks behind Vaughan Sportsplex II discovered a secret weapon against the rain, snow, and heat that assail outdoor sports. It's called the great indoors. The facility packs in a ball-hockey rink, three soccer fields layered in Xtreme artificial turf, basketball court, workout gym, and upper-viewing area with a lounge. These fields host league and tournament play for men, women, and children, as well as provide space for personal-training sessions. The facility may also be rented out privately for weekend warrior matches or birthday parties.
Established in 2010 by two guys with a passion for volleyball, Off Limit Sports combines the healthy, active elements of playing sports with the social elements of trying new things. Much like actual volleyballs, which grow from seeds, the company started small: it offered just one night of volleyball per week. Today, though, it organizes leagues, tournaments, and pickup events in a number of sports, including soccer, baseball, basketball, and trampoline dodgeball. Despite that growth, Off Limit Sports remains closely connected to the community, working to raise funds and awareness for many local causes and charities.
Microlinks Community Centre's crown jewel is the versatile fitness studio. With wall-to-wall mirrors and and portable speakers, the studio is perfect for everything from belly dance practice to kids' jiu jitsu sessions. Whatever visitors' age and preferred fitness discipline, the center offers applicable classes?or appropriate courts. The complex boasts a badminton court and a volleyball court. Art classes complement the fitness amenities, covering everything from acting to playing the guitar, a step up from holding it and nodding rhythmically.
