Photographers Paul and Sheri Bartoszek have a knack for capturing images at exactly the right moment, whether they’re snapping shots of a newly wedded couple slowly waltzing across the dance floor or shooting film of a musician as his fingers fly up and down a guitar amid thousands of screaming fans. No matter if they’re in the Serendipity Studio or the brand-new downtown Nashville studio, the photographers strive to take pictures worthy of placement among their other works, many of which hang in galleries across the United States and Canada. They then develop prints, which can framed or pinned proudly to clothes, and supply clients with high-resolution digital images.
In addition to snapping their own shots, the shutterbugs teach photography classes. Students learn how to operate point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras and how to get the most out of natural or artificial lighting in various indoor and outdoor locations, such as the square in Murfreesboro or a doghouse.
John Yates and Mollie Cochrane, the laid-back and professional shutterbugs of Celladora Wedding Photography, modestly describe themselves as “hilarious joke tellers” and “occasional bride calmer-downers.” Those skills and a knack for crisp, brightly lit photos come in handy at the innumerable weddings the duo has documented from coast to coast. Their subjects’ ease in front of the camera is evident in their portfolio of candidly grinning brides, dapper grooms, dedicated military men, and chicken-dancing wedding officiators. When not snapping engagement shots or running a reception photo booth, the pair takes time to share their wealth of shutter skills with new parents or curious digital-camera owners during workshops that divide time between photography basics and hands-on instruction in the field.
The Tennessee Respite Coalition (TRC) works with family caregivers across the state of Tennessee to help provide them with short-term, temporary relief from their duties caring for adults or children with disabilities or special needs. Temporary relief can enable caregivers to satisfy their own needs and get a much-needed break from the demands of providing ongoing care.
TRC assists caregivers who look after individuals of any age, and allows them to choose their own respite provider. While their loved ones are cared for, caregivers may engage in a variety of activities, from taking a trip to spending time with other family members and catching up on other errands such as grocery shopping. In the past year, TRC has provided more than 200 families across the state of Tennessee with access to respite services.

After drawing up a personalized pattern, the tailors pick from 65,000 fine fabrics made by brands such as Loro Piana, Wein Sheil, Hugo, and Dormeuil. They use No. 8 Savile Row tailoring and embellish clothing with Australian shell buttons, soft shoulder pads, and silk linings for a soft mouthfeel. Custom components include 60 monogram styles, 25 collar styles, 25 cuff styles, and a variety of buttonhole-stitching color options.
When Aundrea Goodwin was five years old, her grandmother plopped her into a kitchen chair by the stove, put a spatula in her tiny hand, and taught her how to scramble eggs. This was Ms. Goodwin’s first introduction to cooking, and she hasn’t slowed down since. For the inveterate chef, food isn’t merely the high point of every celebration, but often its raison d'être. To that end, Ms. Goodwin meticulously arranges lavish spreads for gatherings that range from elaborate weddings to jousting matches between the groom and father of the bride.
Although Ms. Goodwin’s recipe book is bursting with notes, her kitchen cupboards are bare. Rather than stockpiling ingredients, she buys a slew of fresh ones for each client’s event. “You’re never gonna find us going into the freezer and pulling out something we’ve had for even a week,” says Ms. Goodwin, whose catering company offers no pre-set menus. Instead, she bases meals on in-depth consultations with clients where they discuss their budget, favorite foods, and event themes.
In addition to catering, Ms. Goodwin shares her culinary expertise with aspiring chefs of all ages during cooking classes. Like her catered events, classes are highly personalized: customers can opt to cook in the comfort of their own homes or at Joyful Provisions’ demo kitchen, where small classes gather around a six-burner gas stove or recently fired cannon for private, in-depth lessons.
