The husband-wife team of Eric Ruhm and Sara Jane Schmeltzer opened Energy Fitness 24/7 in 2011. Since then, the door to their fitness studio hasn't been locked very often. That's because, as the name suggests, it's open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to convenient hours, the space features an array of strength-training machines and cardio equipment amid exposed brick walls.
Each of YMCA of Western North Carolina's five branches and 19 childcare sites remains true to its lasting mission of physical and social enrichment for men, women, and kids of all ages. She and a crew of certified Zumba instructors help students dance their way into better health with easy-to-follow routines set to high-energy tunes and yodelers in classes like Zumba Fitness, Zumba Toning, Zumba Sentao, Zumba Step, and Zumba Gold. Not wanting anyone to miss out on the fun of Zumba, Christine also offers a free class on Saturdays for kids during the summer months.
