At Victoria Kelly’s personal Salon Republic suite, white painted trim sits atop the purple walls like delicate lace. The painstaking detail of Victoria’s surroundings accurately mirrors her own work, stylish scissor cuts and bold color highlights done with a careful eye and skilled hand honed with five years of experience. Victoria can give bounce to flat locks with a signature perm or design a fashionably elegant updo complete with tasteful floral sew-ins.
The salon itself also hosts a fully functioning face-waxing station, equipped to remove fuzz from upper lips and stubborn daisies growing from the ear canal.
Hair design gets a distinct artistic spin at Roots Salon & Hair Studio. Owners Miles and Nicole Higgins and Robert Maples sought to assemble a team of hairstylists trained by Vidal Sassoon, Aveda, and Toni & Guy—a team with the technical flexibility and artistic vision to create unique looks that match each client’s personal style. And whether they’re crafting a haircut, performing ombre or balyage coloring, or styling ‘dos for special occasion, they put their education and vision at the forefront of their work, neatly aligned with the preferences and demands of their customers.
Not everyone can brush the tangles from their own hair, let alone style it. That's why Perfecta Salon & Spa employs a team of stylists who are experts in the intricacies of hair––everything from thickness and texture to color and astrological sign. In the comfort of the cozy studio, clients can request face-flattering layers, or rewire their head's circuit boards with bold highlights.
A tousled updo, a side-swept 'do, choppy bangs—Michelle, owner of Mickey Do’s Hair Studio, tweaks coifs to accommodate any client’s sense of style. But she shines when it comes to edgy 'dos, whether that means a short and spunky bob or an expertly disheveled men’s cut.
Beginning her career in Budapest, Erika Tolnai studied chemistry and anatomy, but she didn't aspire to be a mad scientist—her fascination was instead with beauty. After a move to the United States and further extensive training, she opened Ika's European Spa as a body care oasis. She now tends to her clients' hair, skin, and nails with an emphasis on customized treatments, which enable her to address conditions from acne to 'dos in need of color correction.
For all of her haircuts and color services, Ika uses Redken and gluten-free Baco products. She tends to skin issues with a skincare menu that takes advantage of organic Image Skincare serums as well as microdermabrasion tools and ultrasound waves that produce anti-aging effects. If that's not enough, she also waxes away unwanted hair and polishes nails, warming hands with add-ons such as paraffin wax or a two-hour handshake.
