Lord Eye Center It takes Lord Eye Center's opticians one hour to produce a pair of prescription glasses. Working at an onsite lab, they fit frames from more than 30 designers, using an electronic tracing device to render the thinnest lenses possible. The shop's optometrists can also prescribe various types of contact lenses, from continuous wear and disposable to bifocals and colored lenses. Most popular offering: Home Brewing Supplies and Ingredients Reservations/Appointments: Optional Walk-ins Welcome: Yes Established: 2014 Staff Size: 2?10 people Parking: Parking lot Handicap Accessible: Yes Pro Tip: Come with an open mind?try a new style and break out of your comfort zone. You won't regret it. Q&A with Joshua, Owner What sets your business apart from your competition? Our business is extremely unique to our area. We are the only store in the region that offers beer brewing onsite through our 25-gallon all-electric system. And, to top it off, our prices will fit in any brewer's budget. What was the inspiration for starting this business? Beer, of course. Being an avid homebrewer, I got tired of the lack of ingredients in my local area and decided to make a change. Just having customers come in and share their recipes or experiences gives me a sense of enjoyment. What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a customer? I convinced one customer to start making his own wine. He is now on his third batch, and just told me he wants to start a fourth already because his last batch was so good. What?s your favorite part about your job? Being around my passion and those that have the passion for it as well. I love giving and receiving feedback on my home brews. The culture that comes with making your own wine or beer is awesome. Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? Not only do we cater to local customers, but we also have online sales. If our customer doesn't have time to come in and shop, they can order online and select "free in-store pickup." We will pick their order for them and have it ready for them to stop by. For those out of town, we offer $7.99 flat-rate shipping.

  • Jekyll Island Authority
On Jekyll Island, waves lick the 10 miles of beaches as kayaks cut through the salty water, cyclists roll over 20 miles of paved trails, and riders on horseback clop through hushed maritime forests. All visitors to the barrier island can partake in myriad active, relaxing, or educational activities while immersed in its lush natural landscapes, where dunes give way to beaches filled with hermit crabs and shell collecting and where birders clutch binoculars to examine avian habitats and decode gulls' sign language. The island's public golf club, open since 1898, hosts two 18-hole courses and one 9-hole course on manicured greens and rolling terrain. In the summer, the Summer Waves Water Park provides a cool escape from the heat with six slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. For indoor adventurers, exhibits at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center illuminate the lives of the shelled reptiles, and a museum preserves relics of the wealthy families who used the island as their gilded getaway and a place to bury their expired money. The Jekyll Island Authority oversees all conservation and development on the idyllic island, existing to continually improve the park and its amenities.
