Families have been enjoying fresh fruit and vegetables from Red Wagon Farm
for almost half a century. In its earliest days, Red Wagon was simply a small family-owned roadside market selling fresh produce to passers by. But these days, it's a far larger operation, selling crops as diverse as sweet corn, watermelon, tomatoes, hot peppers, and plums, and even inviting guests to join in the fun by picking their own strawberries from the farm's fields every June.
But while Red Wagon Farm has a lot to offer throughout the year, it really comes alive each autumn with the return of its annual pumpkin festival. Weekend revelers will find a whole host of fall-themed activities, including wagon rides, face painting, and a kids' hay maze and jumping area. A bigger challenge comes in the form of the corn maze, where groups try their best to navigate through the farm's five acres of twists and turns. Afterward, kids and adults can search the grounds for the perfect pumpkin to turn into a jack-o'-lantern, pie, or back-up bowling ball.
Joe Butler doesn't do things halfway. When he wanted to learn to be a physical trainer, he went to LA, trained with some of the top trainers in the world, and began training pro athletes and movie stars. Then he opened his own personal training gym, where he assembled a team of trainers with a combined 200 years of training experience. These days, he and his trainers lead guests of all fitness levels through training programs that include boot-camp, speed-and-agility, and RX Fit classes. Every student who walks into Prescription Fitness is treated to a health assessment and goal-setting consultation, allowing clients to slim down, bulk up, or prep for javelin season.
The North Union Farmers Market began in 1995 as a small market—back then, more than 500 hungry customers shopped the stalls of only six local farmers. Today, the market coordinates eight certified-producer farmers’ markets around Cleveland, allowing farmers to sell their products—from fresh, seasonal produce to meat, syrup, eggs, and dairy—directly to residents. The planet-friendly concept reduces the energy used for transportation and maximizes the freshness of the food.
