Delish! Cooking School, whose classes were voted as some of the Best of WNY by Buffalo Spree, is known for its quality instruction and taste. Within a comfortable urban space, customers can pick up sweet selections such as fresh fudge, scones, bar cookies, and hand-dipped chocolate. Fresh-brewed espresso drinks accompanied by baked goods or housemade ice-cream sandwiches tempt tongues, while a range of cooking tools, sauces, and spices line shelves for at-home chefs to use in their own kitchens.

Experienced chefs lead cooking classes geared toward the home cook looking to hone skills without memorizing transcripts of the Food Network’s full broadcast. Students sip wine during classes such as The Exciting Foods of Thailand, Casual Italian Supper Party, or The New Vegetarian Cuisine.

After honing her stress-melting techniques in local clinics and chiropractic offices, Holly Mazurkiewicz scooped up her massage license and took over a corner of AllenTan’s salon in the heart of Elmwood Village, where she launched a career that continues to this day. Holly’s passion for bodywork has led her to learn techniques that span modalities and degrees of pressure. She invites clients to recline on her massage table and slip into a world of relaxation as her nimble fingers impart soothing Swedish strokes and deep-tissue therapy. She also metes out specialized modalities that focus on the needs of expectant mothers, seniors, and athletes injured while slam-dunking basketballs or shot-putting nosy journalists.

The frosting generals at Fairy Cakes Cupcakery create sweets for special occasions and everyday noshing. Bakers construct handheld foundations for sweet frostings, bride and groom figurines, or G.I. Joes in a variety of gourmet flavors including brown sugar, carrot, and the formidable Buffalo hot wing. Customers can see their cakes dolloped with a choice of decadent frostings such as cookie-dough buttercream, lemon curd, and chocolate ganache. Star attractions include Candy Bar Craze, which introduces rich vanilla cake to milk-chocolate frosting topped with sliced Snickers pieces, and the Coconut Cloud, rich with buttercream bliss. Like the best food fights, some cupcakes can be made gluten-free. Since the chefs bake a limited amount of cakes each day, dessert seekers in the mood for something specific should try to give Fairy Cakes at least 24–48 hours' notice.
