For nine days in July, the annual theater festival stages an eclectic collection of international plays, premieres, and readings. This season’s lineup represents the finest union of worldly performances since Les Misérables: As Performed by Members of the U.N. The lineup includes the U.S. premiere of Ireland’s Gare St. Lazare Players’ production of The End and Israel’s Orto-Da Theatre Group’s production of Stones, a movement piece in which the troupe’s mime artists depict a living statue that commemorates Jewish warriors of the Warsaw Ghetto. Full descriptions of the season can be found here; consult the season schedule for performance details. Please note that some performances are free throughout the festival's run.
Nurturing the pep-boosting skills of kids since 2004, Cheer Mania helps little ones become engaged in a fun and rewarding activity while exposing them to beneficial physical activity in a fun and safe environment. Founded by Michelle Boehle, Cheer Mania allows budding routine crafters to glean handy knowledge from her years of experience as a UCLA Spirit Squad member and Los Angeles Laker Girl. Campers will learn cheers, jumps, dance moves, and introductory stunting while donning a Cheer Mania T-shirt. Each camp has enough space for 20–40 kids; campers should bring their own lunches, snacks, and water each day. A versatile schedule offers weekly sessions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in June, July, and August at three different locations, allowing parents to plan around busy schedules and shark week. Help budding cheerleaders wield pompoms with the precision of an orchestra maestro with a weeklong of frantic cheering.

The staff members at Sylvan Learning's numerous centers understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don’t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of a skills assessment using diagnostic tools and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan’s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results. Camps and after-school and summer classes can ready high-schoolers for the rigors of the ACT or the SAT, or they can help students to wow college-admissions officers with their superior essay-writing skills.
Designed by the pro freerunners of Team Tempest and by X-Games ramp builder Nate Wessel, Tempest Freerunning Academy houses more than 7,000 square feet of parkour and freerunning obstacles. Freerunning distills parkour, a physical endeavor that consists of running and jumping as a means of moving from spot to spot efficiently, into combos of acrobatic moves choreographed to please the eye and give gravity a self-confidence complex. A staff of professional freerunners facilitates athleticism in classes that gradually progress from Parkour 101, which focuses on building strength and balance, to the invite-only Tr? Freedom, which emphasizes flowing safely through creative maneuvers.
The colorful indoor facility emulates a playground with a 10'x14' Aussie Bed trampoline and a six-foot-deep pit of foam. Budding athletes vault from a spongy gymnastics floor like Olympians piggybacking on kangaroos toward 32-foot ceilings or scale a 14-foot warped wall before the eyes of seated spectators.
