Photographer Alix Broadway, hair stylist Naomi Maisey, and makeup artist Shea Ellison have been friends and collaborators on creative projects for years. But it took a client's remarks about the group’s natural chemistry to inspire the women to merge their collective talents into a permanent partnership. Along the way, they filled out their team with the addition of hair stylist and makeup artist Bernice Welacky and post-production assistant Kelley Matley, and today, the Miss Behave Boudoir Photography workday sees the group bouncing ideas off one another as they strive to create unique, sexy shoots that highlight their clients' sultriest sides.

The Miss Behave Team describes their boudoir shoots as both fun and empowering, noting, "It’s like playing dress up with your girlfriends, but way sexier and much more mature.” Their 1,500-square-foot studio boasts a hair-and-makeup room, a lounge area, and interchangeable backgrounds that range from sensuous purple damask walls with velvet curtains to a risqué still frame from March of the Penguins. Since 1979, Care Cleaners has been purifying clothes with a meticulous, six-step cleaning process. Each garment is pretreated to address stains before the Italian-designed dry-cleaning machine goes to work, customizing its methods and detergents based on each garment’s fabric and delicacy. The freshly laundered garments then run through a forming-and-pressing process that produces a crisp appearance complete with factory-form folds. During the final inspection, techs carefully inspect each garment and send it back through the process if they find any stains, creases, or robot fingerprints. Hands-on workshops at her studio impart photographic techniques to nascent photographers, helping parents capture their youngsters’ childhoods in images that look as professional as a set of pinstriped office furniture. Kristi tailors her instruction to DSLR cameras or simpler digital models—including smartphone cameras—in her two workshops, which welcome students’ children as onlookers and photo subjects.

Photo Language founder Vincent T. Joachim describes his work and teachings as a way to capture emotions and metaphors that could not be communicated in words. Harnessing more than 14 years of photography, video, and multimedia expertise, Vincent teaches his sense-driven approach of photography to beginner and experienced photographers of all ages in classes and workshops with themes such as adventure and travel. He also lends his shutterbug skills to portrait photo shoots and weddings, and he films HD music and training videos. In addition to teaching others how to tell stories, he tells his own by showcasing pieces in seven galleries and frequently hiring sky writers.
