At Lake Aviation, FAA-certified flight instructors oversee a wide spectrum of programs that help patrons develop aeronautical skills, whether they're aspiring aviators or casual joyriders. Pilots-in-training can take a Private Pilot's License and then branch out into specialty programs such as Instrument Certification and Ground Instruction. Everyone else, meanwhile, can skip right to soaring through a scenic discovery flight, wherein two or three passengers fly high above upstate New York and even the Niagara Falls while a professional pilot steers the aircraft around any cloud-based traffic jams.

The teachers at Quantum Prep recognize that each of their students possesses a unique learning style, and they craft a curriculum personal to each pupil. Whether teachers are tutoring grade-school students, helping with homework, or prepping a high schooler for the SAT, the process remains the same. They devise the best way to teach each individual student—based on a profile of his or her learning style—and then work to build a sturdy knowledge base. Once that’s in place, they not only add new knowledge and skills, but also foster better study habits. During the nine hour videos of SAT prep, students learn 100 subtopics and practice with the official SAT prep problems disclosed by the test writers.

In the cozy confines of Created By Us's art studio, clients daub bisque figurines, dishware and vases with personalized designs as they sip espresso drinks from the on-site coffee bar. A staffer oversees all proceedings, armed with technical tips and advice on color palette. After fully decorating their masterpieces, patrons leave them behind for studio staffers to glaze and finish, rather than holding them over the next campfire along with the camp counselor's retainer. For special occasions, children and adult revelers alike can take their painting projects into private-party rooms decorated with balloons and fuel their efforts with provided popcorn.
