Though Laser Eye Center has been around since 1986, its technology is nothing less than modern. Treatment rooms at the five surgery centers boast Allegretto Wave and IntraLase FS Laser systems, developed to reduce near and farsightedness, as well as astigmatisms and blinks stuck mid-morse code. But just as important as the technology are the surgeons, who have completed extensive training to pilot these systems and perform other sight-bolstering treatments. It's these factors that have helped surgeons, both past and present, perform over 200,000 vision-correction procedures.
Dena M. Mintz, O.D. follows in her late father's footsteps. Dena has been practicing since 1988 and has made a name for herself as a specialist in contact-lens fitting. She and her staff of optometrists, opticians, and optometric technicians are also fully licensed and equipped to offer evaluations, treatments of eye diseases, and digital photography that may detect conditions that include glaucoma or macular degeneration.
The office stocks modern technology such as premium options of lenses on the market, including Zeiss and Varilux products, and the staff excels in pairing frames from designers such as Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Nike, Sean John, and more with clients' facial features. The result is glasses that give new dimension to personal looks and help patients see the most subtle detail, whether it's of a painting, a concert stage, or the informational brochure on how to clean their new lenses.
At Comfort Laser Clinics, experienced physician Samuel Sunshine, MD, and his staff of trained and licensed registered nurses oust unwanted follicles, tattoos, and inches with an array of treatments. The specialists wield powerful pulses of light to zap follicles for a fraction of a second, permanently stymieing their ability to sneak back onto bodies while disguised as fake mustaches. Permanent body art gradually fades under the exposure of the ConBio laser, while other laser treatments help to tighten sagging skin, hone in curves, and rid toenails of sprouting fungi or topiaries.
Dr. Claudia Montana-Collins started her optometry career more than 25 years ago at the University of LaSalle in Colombia. After moving to the U.S., she earned her doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and researched prosthetic contact lenses at Wesley Jessen. Now at her own practice, Foothill Ranch Eye Care, Dr. Montana-Collins regularly matches prescription lenses with designer frames by Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Ray-Ban, prescribes toric, multifocal, and gas-permeable contact lenses, and diagnoses ocular diseases ranging from cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration to spontaneous x-ray vision. Dr. Montana-Collins has extensive experience conducting dilated eye evaluations for diabetic patients, and receives patients with hard-to-fit prescriptions, including patients with advanced astigmatism, keratoconus, and presbyopia. Thanks to their fluency in both Spanish and English, she and her staff communicate clearly with a diverse clientele.
