At Root of Happiness, named for the relaxing properties of the kava root, visitors unwind while sipping kava brew from petite bowls that resemble coconut shells. Baristas also fill shot glasses with potent, concentrated kava that they flavor with cane-sugar syrup, prepare pour-over coffee, and steep exotic teas. Polynesian artwork and hand-carved wooden sculptures lend the cafe the relaxed ambience of an island tiki bar.

The sight most often seen from the drive-thru window of Java Johnny's isn't drivers?it's dogs. That's because the drive-thru espresso bar's baristas don't just make freshly brewed lattes and mochas to go, they also serve up dog treats to well-behaved pups. This helps create both happy drivers on the way to work and happy pups who are secretly living out of their cars until their herding business takes off.

Though the dog treats only come in one flavor, the staff creates the house lattes in a variety of flavors using Torani's classic and sugar-free syrups. Baristas whip up classic and signature drink combinations, such as the ToffeeNut silk with white mocha and Hawaiian style shaved ice to accompany a variety of food items including pastries such as raspberry scones.

If you were to trace the origin of one of Jamba Juice?s freshly squeezed juices, it wouldn?t take long before you ended up face to face with its most important supplier: Mother Nature. Whole fruits and vegetables from her gardens, groves, and orchards fill Jamba Juice's stores: kale, apples, pineapple, carrots, beets, and other produce. Although it?s serious about filling cups with wholesome, natural ingredients, the company is a little more playful when it comes to the palate.

Their commitment to simplifying healthy eating can be found throughout the Jamba Juice menu, from its Fruit and Veggie smoothies and Artisan Flatbreads?to its Energy Bowls, antioxidant-packed that include a blend of fresh fruit, nonfat Greek yogurt, and an assortment of toppings and fresh fruits like acai berries, mangos, and strawberries.

Of course there are also the classic juices on the juice menu. Purely Carrot, for instance, which is as elemental and straightforward as it sounds. But there?s also the Tropical Greens, which combines apple juice and pineapple with super greens and chia seeds. And there?s Kale Orange Power, loaded with kale, bananas, and orange juice?all of which are packed with a serious helping of vitamins and manganese. Regardless of which flavor you choose, each 12-ounce juice packs in at least 1.5 servings of fruits and veggies, making it a convenient way to restore energy and get nutrition on the go.

In addition to providing healthy options to customers, Jamba Juice sponsors Team Up for a Healthy America. The initiative is focused on improving childhood nutrition and fitness by encouraging fans to join the Team Up community of celebrities, athletes and other leaders committed to helping the nation stay fit?which you can do by visiting the main Jamba Juice website.

With over 500 stores serving the full freshly squeezed juice menu, Jamba Juice is the perfect way to blend in the good.

Using free trade, organic coffee, the baristas at the drive through Hot Java Café create piping-hot and refreshingly cold iced drinks. Along with the standard mochas and cappuccinos, the drink menu also includes specialties such as the Nutty Irishman, a latte with hazelnut and Irish cream, plus peanut butter blended iced coffees. Hot chocolate, strawberry milk, and Italian sodas take care of the kids, and depending on the season, guests can also enjoy eggnog lattes, apple ciders, or multiple Santas standing in line.

It is not just the pastas, sandwiches, and pizzas that keep guests coming back to Pete's Restaurant and Brewhouse and Original Pete's?the handcrafted beers also play a major role, quenching thirsts with flavors ranging from the Uptown blonde?s light layers of honey to the highly hoppy profile of the Skinner?s Horse IPA. Pete?s team keeps meals in balance by offering food-and-beer-pairing suggestions, assuring diners that the Midtown ale harmonizes with fish tacos and that the Old Town red?a malty, medium-bodied amber ale?improves coordination for slam-dunking meatballs.

Opening a closet at a restaurant typically means finding a mop bucket, but opening A Dash of Panache’s vanity closet means entering a costume wonderland. Stocked with jewelry, boas, and pastel-hued sunglasses, the lilac-walled closet brims with costumes clients can don for tea in the French-deco tea room, named “Best Tea House” by the A-List—among many accolades. The eatery serves more than 50 flavors of tea to tables draped in black tablecloths and white doilies, complementing their brews with petite sandwiches, scones and pastries on crystal plates. The 1920’s-era building also houses a family café, where visitors can nosh on sandwiches, salads and soups, and ice cream, rather than the typical family meal—the contents of a minivan glovebox. Beyond the family cafe, the back of the building has been converted into a party room, ideal for themed kid’s birthday parties.
