Giant Paintball Park's five locations spider across Southern California, causing flickering rainbows of color that splatter players failing to find cover. Shelter such as castle walls or Old West storefronts dot fields at the Alpine and Lakeside locations, and in Bellflower, Hollywood Sports places players in a 23-acre universe populated with authentic movie sets from the likes of Starship Troopers and Godzilla. At SC Village in Chino, camouflaged paintballers trek through 25 fields of jungle and desert landscape, popping off rounds from behind mesh-covered tanks and army-green helicopters. The wide open battle zones of California Paintball Park in Castaic, meanwhile, challenges competitors' long-distance sharpshooting as they navigate gigantic wooden spindles and wooden forts.
At each of Giant Paintball's sprawling venues, teams rent gear such as Tippmann UT guns and buy battle-proven equipment at their pro shops.
As the morning begins, a row of toddlers takes turns tumbling feet over head while their parents guide them into the correct movement. Later, school-age kids sit in a circle, legs stretched before them as they try to touch their toes. At My Gym, the trained staff imbues kids aged six weeks to nine years with life skills through music, physical activities, and games. Many classes focus on incorporating exercises with social and developmental skills. Additionally, gymnastics training and the development of sports skills teach tykes discipline in a noncompetitive atmosphere. All classes take place in a well-padded room, led by staff trained in child development and fluent in Muppet. Birthday parties give the special boy or girl and their entourage private access to the entire facility, games, and puppets.
Sky High Sports emancipates kids and adults from the laws of gravity with each jump, twist, or backflip their trampolines aid. The yellow-and-black play space features a spring-loaded frame that provides more give to jumpers, with all frames and springs covered by 2-inch-thick safety pads. To take full advantage of its unique space, Sky High hosts springy and elevated games of dodgeball as well as AIR-obics, a low-impact, fat-burning workout class that helps improve balance and coordination. Pintsize gymnasts can take refuge in a specially designed kid court and romp around in the foam pit while they brainstorm nicknames for their pro-wrestling career. The expansive 40,000-square-foot center also offers private rooms for birthday parties.
Sprawling across 40 acres, Warped Paintball Park's eight outdoor fields beckon paintball warriors to dodge between obstacles such as wooden spools and abandoned cars. Armed with rented Tippmann markers, guests can compete for flags on eight scenario themed fields such as graveyard, castle, and jungle or duck and cover behind brightly colored inflatables in two arena fields held to National Professional Paintball League standards. The professional staff is always on hand to help with equipment and technical questions.
Paintball can be a messy game, but Paintball Hotline makes the marketing of the game a clean process. They partner with online marketing companies to expose parks across the country to the players who want to frequent them. Working only in the business of paintball, they provide expertise and personalized attention for both park owners and players. Firsthand knowledge of the sport also comes from having managed fields that boasted more than 400 acres with more than 650 paintball-gun rentals.
Bodies bounce with unnatural ease at Jump5150, where trampolines lying in horizontal rows and at angles around the perimeter encourage visitors to take a leap. Bouncers volley off these trampolines as if making bounds on the moon or atop a giant's belly, then sail into the foam pit for a soft landing. These trampolines are also used for gravity-defying moves during dodge ball games during tournaments organized by the staff.
