Every day for the last 35 years, the staff members at Gymnastics Unlimited sanitize the more than 15,000-square-foot facility. Child-sized hands and feet bound off the surfaces during recreational gymnastics classes, birthday parties, and summer camps.
Making a cupcake from the Cherry Coke and pretzels you bought at a convenience store probably won't win you any prizes, but for Kim Thurman and Kim Aeck, it did. It was this combination (plus some licorice) that brought the duo the win when they appeared on the second season of the Food Network's Cupcake Wars. Together the two Kims run Bake You Happy, a labor of love born out of early-morning pre-workout conversations about baking, during which they'd trade recipes and share tips. Soon they joined forces and opened Bake You Happy—and from all the great press, they've garnered, it's safe to say they're on the right track. And that's not even to mention they were just named Best Cupcakes, Cakes, and Desserts 2013 by readers of The Signal. Their specialty is cakes, in many different forms: cupcakes, cake pops, cupcake jars, and custom cakes. All items are baked using high-quality ingredients, including dutch cocoa, butter, cream, and real vanilla bean. The menu of flavors includes more than 85 varieties.
Sip & Switch participants can transform slightly used or new clothing into clothing vouchers at the door, then enjoy wine and entertainment while redeeming vouchers for new-to-you wardrobe pieces. Arrive at 7 p.m. with your closet castoffs, each cleanly pressed and on a hanger. The Sip & Switch fashion stylists will hand-pick the items suited for swapping. For each accepted piece, you will receive a voucher good for one item that got lost in the crowd of its last closet.

When catering parties and special events, Roma Italian Deli's staffers enter hoisting trays of sandwiches, cannolis, and tiramisu. At Roma's sit-down eatery, visitors can have a tasty party of their own in the dining room or outside on the breezy patio. The menu begins with an antipasto salad layered with cold cuts, fresh veggies, and a blanket of Italian dressing. Hearty subs stuffed with meats, such as genoa salami or prosciutto, furnish bellies alongside a choice of soup or salad, while fettucini noodles tossed in creamy marinara sauce serve as a bed for grilled sausages or an ugly wig for freaking out blind dates.
