Proprietor and medical aesthetician Andrea Juck cut her teeth as a print model before a mounting interest in behind-the-scenes beauty work led her to cosmetology school. After receiving her diploma but prior to establishing My Serenity Day Spa, Andrea painted known faces in New York City, including the guise of Liza Minnelli for her 2001 Madison Square Garden performance opening for Michael Jackson.
The skills that Juck developed in the Big Apple serve her well at her current base—an intimate, sunny Temecula retreat dappled with portraits of Old Hollywood stars. Moving swiftly within yellow walls and between directors' chairs stationed beside a spa bed, she daubs clients' façades with cosmetics from Laura Mercier and Chanel in a method that resists creasing, fading, and incoming pies. With a day's notice, Juck also concocts custom facials fresh from organic ingredients—such as lavender, avocado, and yogurt—to hydrate and exfoliate weary skin, and she uses all-natural beeswax to uproot unwanted hair with minimal irritation.
