Shutterbug Michael Spangler, owner of Expressions Photography of Central, has been snapping photos professionally since 1986. His skills earned him stints as president of the Louisiana Professional Photographers Association and the Capital City Professional Photographers Guild. Today, he crafts portraits and senior photos both inside his studio and amid natural surroundings. His sophisticated, black-and-white portraits occasionally include pops of color to highlight a red car, a pink tutu, or a bad case of the blues. In his color photos, Michael runs the gamut between heavy saturation and subdued, desaturated hues to highlight his subject's dynamic poses.
While chronicling weddings, he draws on 26 years of experience as he alternates between traditional poses and candid shots. Michael also transforms sports photos into memorabilia such as custom composites, trading cards, and magnets. When he isn't capturing still images, he professionally records concerts and recitals on video.
With the amount of fresh and boiled seafood required to meet the needs of their catering requests, dine in and carryout orders, and deli shoppers, it would take two Randy Montalbanos to properly run Randy Montalbano's Seafood & Catering. Luckily, that's exactly what they've got. The restaurant was built on the collaboration between Randy Montalbano, Sr. and his son, Randy Montalbano, Jr., as the crown jewel of the family's three generations in the food-service industry. Above the checkerboard floors of the eatery, display cases show off fresh shrimp, crab, and fish. Patrons can snag live seafood to cook at home, order boiled crab and shrimp to dine in or tote in tidy to-go lunch boxes, or order large platters to cater a football tailgate or a Little Mermaid-watching party.

Cryovac sealed and flash-frozen to keep their flavor on lockdown, The Ranch Steak Company's USDA-Choice cuts of steak, pork, and poultry arrive safely to doorsteps for instant grilling or up to two years of freezer hibernation. The all-natural steaks steer clear of any preservatives or MSG that would smother their savory bouquet, while skinless chicken breast filets demurely cover themselves in a variety of piquant marinades. Ribs, chops, and roasts highlight the pork package's meaty cornucopia, pitting hands against forks for the title of Most Valuable Utensil. Once sealed and boxed, packages are shipped free of charge within 15 miles of The Ranch Steak Company's location in Denham Springs, or made available for pickup.
Songy and Sons Enterprises bedecks abodes with up to 200 feet of twinkling bulbs arranged to festively spangle exteriors for the holidays. The light-stringing luminaries come equipped with their own strands for sale, but customers can supply their own lights or harnessed fireflies at no extra charge. When the luminescent houseguests have outworn their welcome, Songy and Sons returns to pack up the bulbs, allowing homeowners to save their ladders for more important tasks such as rescuing kittens from low-hanging clouds.
