The staffers at It’s All Roses create one-of-a-kind arrangements of wooden roses that fool nature by standing the test of time. They specialize in weddings and funerals, for which they deliver at no cost to any church or funeral home. In addition to beautifying homes, the team gives back to the community by donating proceeds to charitable causes such as the American Cancer Society.
Bryce Bridges took his first professional photo more than 15 years ago. In the years since that initial shutter click, he has worked for several publications—including his own personal creation Medium magazine. Along the way, he's captured the faces of musicians and the remote-controlled smiles of commercial models. Still, Bryce discovered that he wasn't content to hoard all of his knowledge. He began teaching photography at the collegiate level and putting together his own workshops. Today, he continues to immortalize moments and instill his students with the skills they'll need to compose their own bodies of work.
In 2012, the Lincoln chapter of Junior Achievement celebrates four decades of illuminating the demands and opportunities of the business world for local youngsters. A national non-profit funded entirely by the private sector, the enterprise grants students access to modern educational materials and computer software as a real-world oriented supplement to the standard school curriculum. Each year, the Lincoln chapter’s team of more than 600 volunteers shows 15,000 area elementary, middle and high school students the ropes of the free enterprise economy, covering topics such as how to earn and spend money, how to start a business, and how to make change by cutting bills in half.
A certified, professional photographer, Jaime Incontro harnesses more than 10 years of experience when capturing sexy shots of female clientele clad in garter belts, corsets, and baby-doll dresses. The shutterbug works one on one with clients during studio and on-location sessions to ensure that they feel completely comfortable and empowered throughout the shoot. One week after shoots, subjects are welcomed back to feast their eyes on the resulting photos, which can be retouched in an effort to soften or smooth out any physical flaws. Pleasing pictures can be reproduced in a plentitude of products, including prints and calendars. Images can also be stored inside black leather-bound books, CDs, or shoeboxes provided by the client.
The Community CROPS (Combining Resources, Opportunities, and People for Sustainability) gardens program strives to strengthen Lincoln communities by providing spaces for residents to grow nutritious, fresh produce, as well as beautify the city with community gardens. In 2012, the gardening program produced more than 25,000 pounds of food, with 648 plots and more than 800 gardeners. As a community-building effort, Community CROPS never turns away interested gardeners, and it will provide 300 of last year's gardeners with financial assistance for their plots.
CROPS volunteers and AmeriCorps members prep the gardens for the season, mulching garden paths with wood chips, adding composted manure to the plots, and taking inventory of tools and hoses at each garden. The staff also organizes organic growing and gardening classes for the community.

Since the day Lani Bresler received an old Canon Rangefinder from her dad, she's been dedicated to capturing artful representations of all of life’s ephemeral moments. Today, she heads up each and every shoot at Allure Photographic Studio, wielding the original relic that started her career to capture snapshots during weddings, special events, and the hot-dog-eating competition that precedes all high-school graduations. During each event, she focuses on making art that she would be proud of, creating images she'd proudly hang in her own studio.
