Carlisle Sports Emporium is a 20-acre complex, which houses a new 7,000-square-foot laser-tag arena, multiple go-kart tracks, large arcade area, and two 18-hole miniature-golf courses. Flanking these three attractions is a roller rink where skaters can experience walking on wheels without having to stick their legs through two different cars’ sunroofs. Visitors can also stretch their sinews on the computerized indoor climbing wall—which can simulate classic climbs such as El Capitan or Devil’s Tower—or hone their hand-eye coordination in an arcade with more than 100 games.

With an expansive cornstalk maze and a 600-foot zipline, Fields of Adventure enlivens fall outings at a family-owned, working farm. Guests can explore the African safari-themed maze, which carves up 7 full acres to honor famous explorer Dr. Livingstone's enthusiasm for maize-based logic puzzles. Shaped to resemble an overhead view of a lion and two elephants, the labyrinth features several unique sections, each of which challenges patrons with an educational game pertaining to the safari and its hidden, overarching meaning. After dark, maze-goers can flip on their flashlights and challenge the winding paths without the sun's kind direction or helpful cheat codes. After exploring, visitors grab hold of the farm's zipline and descend 70 feet from a tower to soar over the farm's pond.

Starting in the mangrove swamps of South Florida as Tarzan’s Cup, The Jungle Cup tests runners’ warrior instincts and brute strength with a bevy of jungle-inspired challenges. Lone wolves, coed pairs, or teams of four take on the 5K course’s rivers of mud and swinging vines with the hope of winning the coveted Jungle Cup—or at least a finisher’s medal. Obstacles vary based on the run’s location, but contestants can rest assured that their endurance will be put to the test through primal trials such as leaping over fire pits, hurling javelins, and swimming through water hazards. After the race, athletes cool down with a frosty beverage at the Jungle Party, which celebrates their victories with fire shows, hula hoop-offs, and costume contests.

This sort of deft dodging is required at the 5,000-square-foot arena in Owings Mills. Teams compete in one of ten missions during each game of Frontal Assault tactical laser tag, which are inspired by popular video games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.

The snack bar at XP Laser Sport reenergizes players with Polar Shock slushies and personal pizzas. Meanwhile, windmills, loops, and carousels obstruct the path of LED mini-golf balls tumbling down the nine-hole indoor course. The facility's projection screens broadcast the latest angry faces of professional sports coaches, and two 25-foot screens let up to eight guests compete in Xbox 360 games such as Mortal Kombat.

Multitudes of furry creatures, both foreign and farm dwelling, reside within the sprawling 21 acres of Leesburg Animal Park's exhilarating grounds. Inquisitive imps and animal-loving adults will be enchanted and educated with exotic animal exhibits featuring lemurs, African serval cats, white-handed gibbons, giant tortoises, and more. For an even closer look, the animal petting and feeding area allows visitors to softly pet heads, scratch ears, and satisfy stomachs of each curious creature they encounter ($1 for a cone of food).

At Laserdome, up to 40 troops at a time gear up for battle by donning vests and phasers in an alien-themed laser-tag arena. Players traipse across ramps and perch in balconies as they patiently wait to attack opponents, much like a lion crouches in the tall grass before shooting a gazelle with a laser. During play, fun power-ups such as rapid fire, spy mode, and freeze ray tilt the competition in favor of the lucky players who discover them.

After the rounds, players can celebrate victory or brush off defeat in the arcade, which features Xbox games, Dance Dance Revolution, new pinball arcades, and scores of other games that dispense tickets that can be traded for prizes. Laserdome also showcases laser-light shows with professional lighting in themes such as Pink Floyd. Future spies hone their skills in the laser maze, which uses lasers, mirrors, haze, and other challenges to test players as they compete for the high score or see who can refract the most light off their uncle’s forehead. Laserdome is available for parties for all occasions, and every Saturday a live band serenades players as they enjoy unlimited laser tag and a laser-lights show.
