Founded in 1977, Huntington Learning Center employs a battalion of highly trained tutors who help students succeed both at school and in standardized testing. The academic evaluation, consisting of exams performed in a simulated classroom environment, yields a comprehensive collection of data that the center director uses to design a custom learning program and a personalized, in-class obstacle course. For SAT/ACT students, the evaluation includes an actual full-length SAT or ACT exam.
Traversing the notes and frets of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vocals, the faculty of professional musicians at School of Rock instructs junior jammers of varying statures. Aspiring autograph signers of all ability levels learn the rock 'n' roll ropes during 30-minute private weekly lessons. Drawing sonorous swells from instruments or their own mohawk-sporting vocal chords, pupils practice progressions, riffs, and more.
More than 15 years ago, DJ Jocelyn was the first woman to host an on-air radio show in the history of WKPS 90.7 FM. Nowadays, she draws upon her broadcast charm to energize partygoers and make announcements as DJ David or DJ Billy from Philly lures guests to the dance floor by spinning oldies, classic R & B, funk, line-dance tunes, and hip-hop. The Phunky Sound Entertainment, LLC team can also dispatch live entertainers such as jazz guitarist Larry Woods. To preserve memories of important occasions even after the last remnants of the Cha Cha Slide have come unstuck from partygoers’ heads, Phunky Sound covers events with videography and photography services, including photo-booth rentals.

At Canvas Mixers, an artist unearths the hidden talent of amateurs in three-hour painting classes. After handing out aprons and 16”x20” canvases or directing patrons to the nearest blank wall, the teacher carefully guides the brushstrokes of students with step-by-step instructions, helping them craft one of dozens of acrylic paintings. They encourage adults to bring their own beverages, such as beer or wine, to help banish nervousness and inhibitions and let creativity flow. The staff also leads drink-free classes for kids and parent-child pairs.
Offsite events have taken place in Love Park and at local wineries. Canvas Mixers also engages with community service, having raised funds for Ronald McDonald House in the past.
