Above the Rest Window & Gutter Cleaning owner Sean Ward oversees a team of experienced and insured cleaners as they wipe down window panes and clear out clogged gutters. Window washers leave behind glass surfaces free from streaks or ghost handprints as they wipe clean indoor and outdoor surfaces, allowing businesses and homes to put their best face forward. Celebrating their 25th anniversary in the end of October, the hop gurus at Brew and Grow educate burgeoning beer makers on the art of crafting cold ones via hands-on introductory courses. During 2.5-hour classes, duos learn the ins and outs of the brewing process, including basic terminology, equipment, and the differences between ales, lagers, and root beer. Pupils will sip various suds while learning about ideal ingredient combinations, then concoct customized barley pops. Though they can't immediately take class creations home, participants will be able to return to the brewery in approximately one month or after malted barley has passed its fermentation exam to tap and taste their personalized potables. At the end of the session, students will be able take home a choice of two comprehensive home brewing guides, either How To Brew by John Palmer or Radical Brewing by Chicago author Randy Mosher.

Blümgarten & Co. blooms with sumptuous groupings of flora that freshen up interiors and add flair to special occasions. Expert floral-design instructors guide groups of aspiring horticulturists for two hours as they assemble in-season flowers into modern arrangements, which are much more attractive than the Victorian patterns in which they grow from the earth. Blümgarten & Co. provides snacks and drinks, and students are encouraged to bring along their own alcoholic beverages to turn the class into a fun night out with friends. Attendees may also bring along their own vases or hollowed-out pineapples to use as a display vessel for their new arrangements.

Under the instruction of master floral designer Mike Hines, you'll undertake the craft of floral arrangement in your choice of a wide variety of classes (Epoch Floral should be adding more classes over the duration of the Groupon). Learn the art of hand-tied arrangements, a tradition of simplicity that stems from 1800s Germany, or create a vivid tropical flower tower just in time for the invading hoard of summer. If flowers aren't your favored source of chlorophyll, try your fingers at the non-floral design class, which uses succulants, foliage, rocks, moss, and more to create a design earthy enough for your favorite local Druid. All classes begin with a tour of a floral wholesaler, where you'll have the option of purchasing additional floral elements and supplies for later personal use. Light snacks and beverages are available to nosh during class as creativity fuel. After the schooling, you'll have a one-of-a-kind creation to take home and keep for the remainder of its little lifespan.
