Amid the gentle babbling of an outdoor waterfall, the Simpsons are snapping pictures. Here, in their studio’s scenic outdoor garden, Photoart by Simpson’s two generations of photographers exert decades of expertise as they capture kids at play, families in celebration mode, and moms-to-be using their stomachs as book stands. Inside the studio, natural light streams into photo sessions, illuminating the artistic poses Andrew stages or the spontaneous turns of Arlene’s lens. To ensure that clients receive the photo shoot they’re looking for, the Simpsons invite subjects to consult with them prior to the shoot, making any stylistic requests before the session begins. Once cameras have been packed away, clients can memorialize their newly captured selves via framed and mounted prints.
A father-and-son duo, McMath Photography captures family moments with crisp detail, sharp colour, and unique angles, creating artful images to treasure for generations. They bring their own jovial and jocular personalities to all photo sessions, imbuing atmospheres with a laid-back vibe that allows clients to relax in front of the camera and express their personalities. Photo sessions include everything from weddings and special events to portraits for families, kids, or your pet kumquat who's been begging for a headshot.
Specializing in family photography, Lesley Ann Bell captures honest and authentic moments in time with each colourful and captivating portrait. During each on-location shoot, she lets her shutter loose on memorable images, snapping a multitude of pictures before winnowing them down to 30 keepers ready for processing and display on prints or online image galleries. Lesley Ann also nurtures nascent shutterbugs through beginner's and advanced DSLR photography classes. Sessions begin with a one-hour training session that teaches photo fundamentals to beginners or advanced lighting techniques to more experienced students. Intimate five-students-or-less classes then migrate outdoors for an hour or more of hands-on experience. With friendly guidance from Lesley Ann, the group puts newly learned principles into practice, training lenses on the memorable landscape of riverbanks, trees, birds, and centaurs combing the grass with metal detectors.
