Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
Each of our instructors are very encouraging and make it a point to keep clients motivated. We try to keep our programs fun and challenging at the same time. We always start them off with a fitness assessment and give each client a goal to reach. After that we assess each month to see how they are progressing.
Do you believe in the maxim, "No pain, no gain”? Why or why not?
I don't believe in that theory. I don't believe a client has to be pushed to their breaking point in order to achieve results. All that does is scare them into thinking exercise always has to be painful in order to get results. Instead I encourage them to do their best and just be consistent. Consistency. That's the most important factor in exercise if you want results.
At Cardio Fit Sports Club, a sea of free weights floods the weight room, where strength-training machines, elliptical units, treadmills, and cardio machines also beckon visitors to work toward their dream bodies. Experienced trainers draw upon experience in martial arts and other disciplines while leading workout classes targeted at certain muscle groups. The instructors also design courses according to the needs and varying levels of all of their clients. The driving rumble of high-energy bass lines drifts from Zumba sessions, and relaxed sighs waft from yoga and mat Pilates classes.
The dance-fitness style from which Karingah! Boutique Fitness Lounge takes its name is African at its core, but also reflects Caribbean, Middle Eastern, and Latin American dance traditions. Love for other parts of the globe isn't limited to the studio space, however. Karingah's Fit for Free program pledges a donation to anti-human-trafficking organizations for each class you attend, be it Karingah!, Zumba, Pilates, or Fusion Barre.
