At Happy Tails Pet Care's kennel-free dog boarding facilities, a caring, professional staff trained in pet first aid and CPR nurtures pooches with exercise, socialization, and large helpings of love. During the day, canine boarders can socialize with other dogs by chasing squirrels, fetching balls, and comparing notes on the area's premium fire hydrants in daycare and during 60- to 90-minute play groups held at local parks. Worn out by a day of energetic exercise, boarders will plop down into soft, fluffy beds, and drift off to dream about bacon-flavored newspapers and the final defeat of their feline arch nemeses.
Dirty Paws Pet Wash sets up shop on Santo Road, just off the 52 freeway in Tierrasanta. They provide a convenient and efficient self-wash service, equipped with raised tubs, shampooing products and high-powered dryers. These dryers are more powerful than ones typically seen at pet washing studios, which is helpful for dogs with thick fur. Their stucco exterior is inviting, and the facility is clean and easy to use, making it an enjoyable time for both dogs and their owners. The staff is friendly and helpful, sharing cleaning techniques and answering any questions visitors may have about their pooch. For those uninterested in doing the dirty work themselves, full service professional grooming is also available and includes a thorough bath, haircut, nail trim and teeth cleaning.
After spending 10 years living in the United States, Isadora Davis realized that she had looked to her dogs for comfort during the transition from Brazil to America and wanted to honor the creatures that made her smile. The Pet Lounge was born. To pamper pooches, Isadora offers cage-free overnight boarding in suites outfitted with TVs and raised beds. During the day, guests can drop off their pups for daycare or positive-enforcement behavior training. The Pet Lounge’s self-serve washing stations allow owners to use Pet Head shampoo, conditioner, and high-velocity dryers for cleaning their dogs after they’ve rolled around in the mud or participated in a beach-volleyball tournament.
Like their human counterparts, dogs need time to exercise and socialize. Animal lover Char DeLillio opened Dog Gone Adventures to help pet owners give their pups those enriching experiences. She and her staff take groups of dogs on field trips to dog-friendly parks and beaches, where they play fetch with the staff and cavort with one another, which keeps them from trying to wrestle the houseplants when they get home. Char and her team also take pets on long, individual walks and pet-sit at Dog Gone Adventures, pet sitter's home, or pets' home.
