Established in 1996 as Ohio’s first certified Pilates studio, BodyMind Balance provides years of experience and knowledge for fitness-seeking students. BodyMind Balance’s mat classes are taught in Classical Pilates style and conducted with nothing but a polished wood floor, a mat, and a lot of super-motivating eye contact. Beginner and advanced classes are available several times a week in the airy studio. Pilates strengthens, lengthens, and shapes the body by utilizing ancient Jedi techniques without the need for expensive, hair-singeing lightsabers and humid training on swamp planets. It also relieves stress, de-slouches one's posture, and increases lung capacity so that you can stop avoiding long sentences when you speak. This Groupon is also valid toward Gyrotonic group classes.

Fitworks is home to a dedicated cadre of certified muscle architects who guide eager physiques through intense, small group workouts. Peruse the schedule before sampling a tension-undoing yoga class or a weekend-morning muscle-pump session, ideal for prepping for an underwater bench-press that will determine the office's next round of promotions. One-hour Zumba classes harness the rhythmic power of merengue, conga, belly dancing, and more to kill calories while resuscitating sleepy toes. After classes, students can freshen up or flex unused singing muscles in Fitworks' shower facilities.

Though the contraction "it's" was originally invented by disheveled British men to herald the arrival of flying circuses, today's deal uses it to herald something completely different. Bring your Groupon to the studio above the Ludlow Garage on Ludlow Avenue and attain the same limber happiness that runs through the branches of your happiest miniature bonsai trees. Power yoga differs from regular yoga in a few key ways, most notably its dedication to the destruction of evil through extreme muscular flexion. The wide range of class offerings ensures pliable posers of all levels can find a suitable challenge. Greenhorns can get started with a New to Yoga course, while veterans of powerful yogic posturing can up their yogame with the Power Flow 90, a 90-minute workout designed to infuse power yoga poses directly with DNA, creating the fitness version of Jurassic Park. Consult the schedule for a full lineup, and plan on arriving 5 to 10 minutes before a class is scheduled to begin. Bring a towel and water bottle to wipe away and replenish exercise tears.

Roughly translated, tae kwon do means "the way of the foot and the fist." With more than 2,000 years of history behind it, the ancient martial art mixes movements of karate and kung fu with Korean kicking techniques. Since 2001, Cincinnati TaeKwonDo Academy has shared this authentic style of tae kwon do with students of all ages—some as young as 4 years old.

Today, the academy divides itself into four age-appropriate programs. The Lil Leaders program, for instance, teaches young kids the basics, focusing on the eight specific skills—including coordination, speed, and structure—that are critical to performing tae kwon do and escaping the time-out corner. On the older end of the spectrum, the Impact Teens and Adult program splices tae kwon do training with functional fitness drills and reality-based self-defense practices.
