Bare Body Laser Spa's team of laser technicians expertly guide Soprano XL and NaturaLase QS devices across skinscapes to rejuvenate and tighten appearances or evict unwanted hair and tattoos. Touted to be as gentle as a hot stone massage, laser hair removal sessions quickly destroy follicles and grafted Chia pets to prevent further regrowth, and tattoo removal sessions fragment ink pigments, allowing the body to fade them from epidermal memory over the course of 6–12 sessions. Time-worn coverings, meanwhile, bask in the therapeutic glow of warm infrared light, which picks up epidermal slack along the body, face, or neck without discomfort or downtime.

Q&A with Jen Rosen and Mary Beth Fletcher, Owners

Sometimes it's all about the little things in life. What supplemental courtesies do you include with your main services to leave clients with a smile on their face?
All of your supplies and needs are taken care of. You receive a free beverage to get you in the creative mood.

How is your approach different than that of other professionals in your field?
The instructors have masters' degrees in fine arts and are credentialed school teachers, which is something other companies do not offer. Our experienced teaching methods put you at ease and guide you step-by-step. We only have one rule: it is impossible to make a mistake. What one deems as a mistake can lead a painter into a unique masterpiece.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Art on Tap is an adult painting class, held at Claremont Craft Ales, where creativity flows from giant kegs of craft ale right into your paintbrush.

A pupil’s holiday letter addressed to “Mr. Vargas” captures the heart of Vargas Conservatory of Music in one simple sentence: “You are one of my favorite teachers.” Michael Vargas and a team of degreed instructors—who are trained by Vargas himself—work hard to motivate and encourage their students, forming genuine friendships as they instruct pupils in music theory and sight-reading. The private lessons tackle everything from classical to jazz to pop music, depending on the student’s tastes.

Founded by instructor and former street performer Maria Bernhard, Pilates Studio M hones torsos and limbs with Pilates mat and circus-inspired aerial silk classes. Open to all ages, Pilates ($70 for five classes) helps students focus and breeds full-body discipline, as the deft articulation of extremities makes doing the robot more attainable. The core-focused one-hour sessions have been helpful in treating everyone from scoliosis patients to those in post-surgery rehab. Although long practiced by certain worms, humans only recently caught on to the health benefits of dangling from silk. Two-hour aerial classes ($40 each), taught by professional suspenders, let participants increase muscle tone and flexibility while bearing their own weight as they hang from silk bands.
