Heather's Day Spa's owner and licensed aesthetician Heather Ann Sakelariou has been committed to the beauty of the Tampa area for more than 20 years. After graduating from the Elite Skin Academy she armed viewers of WTSP Channel 10 News with beauty tips in her segment Heather Ann's Eye on Your Appearance. In time she deepened her commitment by opening her spa and formulating her own line of beauty products.
When not busy maintaining her cosmetics, she spends her days pampering pelts with various skin services. From facials for men and women to body treatments such as the Hawaiian-salt body-glow scrub, she strives to nourish and heal skin. Heather also uses her knowledge to expand the beauty community, leading makeup lessons that teach women how to amplify their natural features without using a highlighter or attaching brightly colored arrows to their heads.
A cream-colored spa accented by green sprouts, marble, and stone sets the stage for relaxation at Aqua Lifestyle Nail Salon & Spa, where skilled aestheticians bolster beauty with services for the skin, hair, and nails. Wrinkles and furrows fade into oblivion as the staff tightens skin with Lumière LED facials and turns back the clock on sun damage with the lightening peel’s cocktail of lactic acid and brightening serums. Kneeling at the foot of 1 of 17 plush pedicure chairs, a technician culls overgrowing nails, curbs wayward cuticles, and ousts spent skin with a sea-salt scrub, promoting relaxation and the joyful urge to commute via kickline. Among the salon’s other services, airbrush tanning bronzes bodies without UV exposure and gentle head-to-toe waxing treatments strip away hair with warm wax.
Licensed aesthetician Raye Toscano and her husband, Dr. Francis Toscano, operate Red Bamboo Medi Spa, a facility that marries aesthetic treatments with nonsurgical, medical-grade therapies. Their services, which recently garnered the spa a Best Aesthetics Practice award at The Aesthetics Show in Las Vegas as well as recognition in Tampa Bay Business Journal's 2012 Best in the Biz spa category, cosmetically enhance both the face and body. SmartLipo mimics liposuction treatments with fiber-optic lasers, and a four-layer face lift topically banishes dead skin with enzymes, glycolic acid, and mini exorcisms.
After a three-decade career in radiology, Dr. David Wolstein hung up his lab coat and retired. But not for long. In his brief retirement, he discovered the restorative effects of anti-aging therapies and began practicing again—this time in the field of anti-aging and rejuvenation medicine. He is joined at Total Vitality Medical Group by his son, Doctor of Chiropractic Brian Wolstein; chiropractor and professional bodybuilder Dr. Kristy Robbins; and aesthetic expert Dr. Sheryl Haynes. This team taps the Fountain of Youth with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), nutritional counseling, and weight-loss programs.
The aestheticians at Melaiya Skin Care Spa aim to repair skin ailments and restore visages to their original luster. Their signature facial combats all dermal afflictions, such as the mass production of oil to desert-skin, with gentle exfoliations and custom masks. They also treat backs to a facial with steam and extractions, and smooth newly revamped bodies during waxing sessions.
The bodywork specialists at The Zzzen Den Massage use the therapeutic power of touch to relax the muscles and revitalize the mind. Traditional Swedish massages employ smooth, flowing strokes that kick-start circulation and promote detoxification, while more intense deep-tissue kneading hones in on chronic muscular knots made by sailors while you sleep.
