Hole up away from home in something that is neither a hole nor your home with today's Groupon. For $59, you'll get a cozy garden room at The Arbor Inn, a quaint bed and breakfast in Prescott, Wisconsin, just 35 minutes outside of the Twin Cities. The "Travel Green" destination follows eco-friendly practices, such as recycling, using cloth napkins and high-efficiency washing machines, and taking a little time each day just to think about the planet and really appreciate how complex it is. It's the perfect romantic couples retreat after a long week of arguing about whether or not Roger Clemens could throw a baseball through a wedding cake.

If you take a moment to survey the photos hanging on the wall in Harrison's, you'll see one of Andrew Kneale, cheerily manning his childhood lemonade stand. And if you glance over at the bar, you'll see that same boy, a few decades older, smiling as he pours a glass of wine for a guest. Andrew's mother, Kathy, is likely nearby, whether escorting people to a table or in the kitchen baking one of her beloved raspberry pies.

For the pair, the restaurant is a labor of love for two reasons: not only is it an homage to David Harrison Kneale, the family's late husband and father, but they've also been feeding the Stowe community since opening the Partridge Inn back in 1973. The dinner-only service means Harrison's is rarely less than full, so it's not surprising the small-town spot got "high marks" from the Boston Globe's travel section and the local teacher who grades everything. The menu's charming balance of comfort and class makes it hard to choose between dishes such as steak au poivre rubbed with black peppercorns and pecan-encrusted ahi; but whatever you pick, make sure to save room for that raspberry pie.

Four generations of Boydens have lovingly tended hundreds of acres of land that make up Boyden Valley Winery & Spirits. Plucked from more than 8,000 vines, these grapes are transformed into European-style wines, aged in French oak barrels in the on-site cellar. The results are 18 different products, including red, whites, and fruit wines as well as ice wines, hard cider, and cream liqueurs, which can be sipped by the glass on the patio, during tastings, tours, or at home.

As the only par-three course in Chittenden County, Arrowhead Golf Course connects nine holes ranging from 90 yards to 210 yards in length. Arrowhead's small size doesn't just make it easy to slip into a carrying case after rounds: it also makes it an ideal practice course for seasoned and beginner golfers alike. Three sets of tees per hole enable golfers to lengthen and shorten their shots, and gently rolling fairways outfitted with sand bunkers, water hazards, and other quirky traits present a different challenge at every hole. After rounds, players can even continue to work on their game at Arrowhead's driving range and practice putting green. Before or after being outside, golfers can grab a bite or a drink at the onsite cafe.
