Dr. James Freemont's credentials speak to his ability to synthesize Eastern and Western medicine. After graduating from the Emory University School of Medicine, he decided to augment his specialties in gynecology and obstetrics by learning acupuncture. He took up studies at the Helms Medical Institute's Medical Acupuncture for Physicians course, a program administered through UCLA. These days, Dr. Freemont applies his medical training toward gynecology and infertility services, and he performs acupuncture treatments that bust back pain, head off headaches, and pop pool ring buoys that clients can't remove without ruining their makeup.
Mari-D Glass of Salon Life Spa began to realize her talent for hairstyling as a teenager, when friends and neighbors would flock to her door seeking a new look. The burgeoning demand for her services inspired her supportive parents to invest in a styling station, hooded dryer, and other salon tools to fuel her creative fire. Twenty-one years later, Glass stays on top of industry trends with regular educational classes, learning the latest techniques for cutting, coloring, and relaxing hair.
Glass also believes in the restorative power of touch, which inspired her to extend her gift for enhancing outward beauty to help fortify inner harmony. She has earned certifications in both holistic healing and massage therapy, banishing muscle aches and energy-draining stress using seven different modalities. Glass enhances gentle Swedish strokes or Thai stretches with essential oils and warmed river stones. :m]]

Cindy Barshop may have a familiar face. She gained reality-TV fame as a cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City, but she found success much earlier when the Madison Avenue spa she founded more than 10 years ago grew into a hair-removal brand known throughout the country. Completely Bare’s waxing specialists dab bikini lines with the shop’s proprietary blend of ouch-less wax, which adheres to hair instead of skin to avoid the painful pull that often accompanies a waxing session. The blend is hypoallergenic and does not cause acne, which makes it ideal for depilating sensitive skin and touchy bodily zones. Routine waxing sessions add extra sparkle with the salon’s vajazzling service, which bedecks newly hair-free spots with up to 70 Swarovski crystals arranged into such shapes as hearts, stars, peace signs, and MPAA ratings. The spa specialists also migrate beyond the below-the-belt area to polish the rest of the body with facials, laser hair removal, spray tanning, and teeth whitening.
Spa Sydell traces its roots to 1982, when it opened in Buckhead with a vision of helping Atlantans ease away tension and escape the pressures of daily life. More than 30 years later, Spa Sydell has grown to seven locations while continuing its commitment to providing each customer with personalized attention to ensure superior service and quality.
Each of the spa’s outposts exhibits a unique personality—the larger facilities echo with the sounds of water trickling down fountain displays, soothing scents permeate the air, tropical flowers are placed with care, and the more intimate boutique locations host private treatment rooms in which botanical fragrances couple with the sounds of orchestral twee pop. Regardless of the locale, expect a relaxing, personalized massage experience in which a therapist tends to your individual aches and pains with soothing strokes. During facials, the spa’s aestheticians blend signature products individually selected and previously tested on the CEO.
