Unit 2 Fitness is a locally owned fitness martial arts gym located in midtown Atlanta, GA. Unit 2 was founded by a small group of martial artists and professional fighters. Like many of you we loathed corporate big box gyms. We wanted something for people that wanted hard core fitness and demanded results.
A trio of volunteers—Ami Ciontos, Liz Henderson, and Jillian Udelson—has a special place in their hearts for pit bulls. They founded the Atlanta Bully Rally in honor of National Pit Bull Awareness Day, exposed a fraudulent pit-bull rescue group, and organized fundraisers to sterilize and rehome pit bulls. As part of the Atlanta Underdog Initiative, they spend their spare time protecting pit bulls and finding them adoptive homes. When the three discover bully-breed dogs in dangerous situations, they step in to rescue the dogs and then find them adoptive homes with responsible and well-educated pet owners. They also care for local pit bulls by delivering dog food and flea care to owners, driving dogs to veterinary appointments, and vaccinating puppies against diseases.
Throughout nearly seven decades, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has bridged musical gaps with an extensive catalog of Grammy-winning recordings that include symphonies, operas, and gospel and classical choral works. Once helmed by the chorale superstar Robert Shaw, the orchestra has produced six Grammy-winning releases in its 12 years under current director Robert Spano. Its allied institution, the Atlanta School of Composers provides training, support, and ear massages for hardworking contemporary artists.
Named Best Golf Course by CrossRoadsNews readers in the 2010 Best of East Metro Readers Choice Awards, Sugar Creek Golf Course challenges seasoned and novice shooters to navigate more than 6,200 yards of manicured countryside. Hop into Sugar Creek's inclusive golf cart with your best friend, dad, or best friend's dad to explore the publicly owned, par-71 course, which dares dimple dabblers to dodge its low-slung bunkers and master the movement of well-kept greens. Guests can also feel free to give skills a quick polish at the course's practice bunker and putting greens. Once iron-swingers have sufficiently conquered Sugar Creek's fairways and snorkeled its water hazards, they may end links journeys at the full-service clubhouse or in the retail realm of the Sugar Creek pro shop.
From a chic, late-night soiree to a lively kids' birthday bash, the planners at Perfect Parties execute events for both adults and children. Adults' parties may include dancing, hors d'oeuvres, and cakes celebrating new babies or finally finding the perfect hairstylist. Kids' parties, on the other hand, exude fun and whimsy. That might mean cupcakes adorned with edible lipstick and eyeshadow palettes or a party table decked out like a car garage.
