Since opening their first spa—Sassy SunTan & Oxygen Bar—Heather and Adam Larribas have added a second sunning sanctuary called Sassy Tan & Spa. In addition to providing tanning services, the original location features an aromatherapeutic oxygen bar, while its counterpart on Star Ranch Road offers massage therapy. Visitors to the oxygen bar inhale air that's 90–95% oxygen, as opposed to the 21% usually found in everyday air. Meanwhile, aromatherapy scents such as vanilla, piña colada, and orange bolster the energizing effects of the vapor as soothing eucalyptus scents attract curious koalas.
Both locations offer bronzing via UV beds as well as airbrush gear. In accordance with a mission statement prioritizing cleanliness and comfort, staffers stock each private treatment room with tissues, water, deodorant, and candy. Here, tanners bask in the glow of beds equipped with varying levels of intensity, or close their eyes as a cloud of bronzing mist settles on their skin during an airbrush tan.
Inside Bronze Bay Tanning, Smart-Tan-certified staffers guide guests to an octet of beds that burnish bodies with UV light in 12- to 20-minute bursts. Accelerators and lotions by brands such as California Tan and Australian Gold enhance tans with extended bronzing effects and improved alibis about beach vacations down under. For sunless tanning, a trained technician covers pelts with a laser-airbrush spray tan that lasts up to one week.
