Third-generation cleaners Kit and Casey continue a more than 60-year-old family legacy as they meticulously clean clothes and fabrics both large and small. Using environmentally friendly solvents, each item is pre-treated for spots and laundered according to the ironclad edicts of its tag. Shirts are treated with a special enzyme detergent that eats away at body odor and foot stains, whereas an anti-sugaring system protects wedding gowns from beer, champagne, food, and mud-wrestling stains. Casey also takes special care with suede and leather garments, cleaning leather jackets herself. Finished items can be put through a professional presser and are then whisked away to customers via free delivery.

Are there any dishes on the menu you consider to be a hidden gem?not necessarily the most popular, but surprisingly delicious?
Our scallops are amazing. Can't go wrong with the diablo shrimp and grits either.
D?cor can say a lot about the type of food a restaurant serves. How does your d?cor inform or reflect your culinary practice?
We have a comfortable, quaint, contemporary lounge setting, offering an upscale feel with a casual approach. We like to focus on the social dining aspect of eating out. Not stuffy, just well-executed.
In your own words, how would you describe your menu?
It's a global approach to modern American dining. Very eclectic, offering vegetarian and gluten free options, along with your traditional offerings in a not-so-traditional way. There's honestly a little bit of something for any palate.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Large group and private parties are our specialty, we pack the house on a regular basis for birthdays and celebrations.
Lisa Attruia and the animal-loving staffers at A Dogs Meow Pet Grooming & Daycare cater to cats and dogs with grooming and pet-sitting in a homey, Marmaduke-approved environment. Lisa can groom and style pets with custom cuts for their breed, as well as summer cuts and other services such as ear cleaning, nail clipping, and flea and tick treatments. She also offers full-service packages that pamper pooches from head to tail with cosmetic grooming, an oatmeal bath, a blueberry facial, and other treatments.
A Dog's Meow opens daily for doggy daycare, and its pet-sitters have everything a dog needs for a short- or long-term visit. Boarders enjoy climate control, house access (if they’re potty trained), and twice-daily kennel cleaning and sanitation. During extended stays, sitters will even give owners peace of mind by sending video updates, pictures, and email blasts written by their pets.
A pack of dogs bounds along a white lattice fence as they chase bouncing tennis balls, their footfalls muffled by a charcoal-gray padded floor. One dog is called aside for grooming duties: a nail trim and a bath. With the knowledge that the canine-training professionals at Dog Daze Playcare possess years of training and warm-hearted natures, pet parents rest easy while their animals are away from home. Owner Becky Henson leads this team with more than 20 years of experience as a handler and trainer, having diverted from a career as a competitive horse trainer to work with canines after attending her first dog show. During daycare, she and her staff also work with pups in one-on-one training sessions, teaching them obedience, agility, and cat telekinesis for a nominal fee.
In the most impressive of martial arts moves, bodies fly across a 1,700-square-foot mat at Cavalo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, where students train to become Brazilian jiu jitsu fighters. Classes cater to all skill levels with exercises designed to use leverage and submission holds to subdue an opponent.
The hard-rocking sextet of Drive-By Truckers blasts out of the dirty South to take the stage at Missouri Theatre, pumping up crowds with their alternative blend of country, rock, and soul music in the latest chapter of the University of Missouri Concert Series. Touring on the heels of its latest album, the backwoods noir Go-Go Boots, the band peppers its Southern gothic tales with shredding licks from three guitarists and vocal harmonies honed in recent gigs backing up musical legends Bettye LaVette and Booker T. Jones. Publications such as Spin have praised the new material for its “late-night soul vibe,” citing frontman Patterson Hood’s ability to stir a cauldron with his microphone while lyrically summoning forth “a rogues’ gallery of ex-cops, misunderstood stalkers, and disgraced preachers willing to keep their secrets hidden.”
