The telltale sounds of fun fill the air at either Magic Mountain Fun Center location, as friends and families careen around tracks in go-karts, compete on mind-bending mini-golf courses, or do battle in bumper cars. Piping-hot pizzas fuel days of rides and arcade games, and the park's varied birthday packages catapult parties into a fun-filled gamut of feasting, bumper boats, and laser tag. Open late, the parks afford guests the opportunity to while the night away or lure their night terrors in front of a speeding bumper car.

Founded more than 30 years ago to foster cultural pride in the Italian American heritage, the Columbus Italian Festival still hews to its original trifecta of values: faith, family and friends. Held at the St. John The Baptist Italian Catholic Church, the festival has swelled from its inaugural crowd of 10,000 to more than 35,000. The festivities, which go on for three days, honor Columbus’s vibrant Italian community with live music, a smorgasbord of Italian cuisine, a cultural parade, and a film festival featuring the work of famous Italian directors, actors, or boom-mike operators.

To get properly soaked at Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark, you need to make a 40-foot climb. That’s the height of the park’s Slide Tower, where four rides await, including Black Out—a dizzying black slide that spirals down to the lazy river below. The park's interactive play structure is also 40 feet tall, though the activities there aren’t limited to sliding—youngsters can blast buddies with a water cannon or wait beneath the tipping bucket, which dumps 1,000 gallons of water throughout each hour.

While kids play, grownups can luxuriate in a 30-person hot tub open only to adults and preteens willing to chat about yesterday's C-SPAN transcripts. Other activities inside the balmy 84-degree park include showing off your skee-ball skills in Gold Rush Arcade or snacking on hot dogs and fries from the park’s concession stand, D.B.’s Sidewinder Café.

Westerville Golf Center's lush driving range coddles golfers with first-rate facilities that landed it on Golf Range Magazine's 2011 Top 100 Ranges list. With the Birdie Frequent Hitter card in tow, golfers can whack, juggle, and comically trip over $36 worth of driving range balls while traversing 80 verdant grass slug-stations. A fleet of 40 covered tees, heated in winter, shelter stick swingers from summer sun and unseasonable chills, and loaner clubs are on hand for those still slicing the air with old mannequin legs. Ideal for sharing with a close friend or one of the staff's PGA instructors, orbs come in small ($5/40 balls), large ($7.50/75 balls), and jumbo ($13/175 balls) buckets.
