With pennies pinched from her modeling career, Kimberly Yatsko bought a camera. She had a vision of being on the other side of the lens, and, inspired by the stunning magazine ads of Italian designers, she set off to make a career out of fashion photography. This career-change also inspired a move, and she plunged into Los Angeles's fashion scene without a backward glance. Once in LA, she worked for celebrity photographer Matthew Mitchell and fashion shutterbug Ash Gupta, honing her craft until she felt ready to start her own business.
Now, as the proprietor and artist behind Kimberly Yatsko Photography, she snaps portraits for magazines and private citizens. And she brings her fashion sensibilities to every shoot, whether she's showing off a product or helping a client feel and look beautiful. Once shoots are over, she provides her clients with both prints and digital versions of her images, ideal for printing at home or at the public library where that cute librarian works.
The husband-and-wife team at Dan Yeniz Photography have been capturing their clients’ best angles for more than a decade. In their cozy studio, they capture families, graduates, and boudoir subjects in vivid photos, then memorialize them in prints, digital albums, and DVDs. Outside of the studio, they photograph and film newly engaged couples and follow them around again on their wedding day. The couple also sets up photo shoots for girls celebrating their quinceañeras or quinceañera-themed 14th birthday parties.
Photographer Stuart Townsley uses a trained eye and high-tech equipment to capture memories into frameworthy prints and digital art, using 10 of LA's most attractive landmarks as backdrops. The famed local sites where he sets up camp—such as the roaring Pacific Ocean under Santa Monica Pier or the 1930s architecture and picturesque fountain of Union Station—elegantly complement subjects' smiling visages. His shutter snaps hundreds of times during each photo shoot, immortalizing the faces, poses, and secret handshakes of families and well-behaved pets. Well-versed in state-of-the-art retouching gear, Stuart unfurls his astutely edited creations onto glossy prints, canvases, and online albums.
Stuart's advice on what to wear and bring to shoots, garnered through 12 years of professional experience, conveniently resides online to aid in the selection of appropriate outfits for every mother, father, child, or hamster.
After first discovering photography in Manhattan, Xenia Berg globe trots to where the work takes her, currently residing in Germany. Her work and travels occasionally take her back to LA, to collaborate with her friend and active commercial photographer Bryan Alano. Bryan takes time away from clients such as Citibank, Roxy, and Lifestyle Magazine to share insights into lifestyle and wedding photography. Students benefit from Xenia and Bryan's wealth of commercial experience, learning how to navigate lighting instruments, digitally touch-up documents, and reward well-behaved models with caviar-flavored dog biscuits.
