At CrossFit MOB, mind prevails over body as trainers lead groups through a new Workout of the Day (WOD) every day. The FERZa CrossFit story, like the American story, began more than 10 years ago when Francisco Zambrano decided to get in shape. At his then 245 pounds, it would take years of training, proper nutrition, and determination to sculpt him into the lean and brawny CrossFit trainer he is today. Eager to share the fitness expertise he cultivated on that journey with others, Francisco began holding CrossFit sessions with a few friends within a small garage. Amid handmade dumbbells, custom pull-up bars, and boxes, the group would practice CrossFit workouts each day. As interest in the sessions grew, Francisco began leading three or four workouts each day, and CrossFit FERZa was born.

Today, Francisco and his team of certified trainers continue to guide students of all ages and experience levels through CrossFit?s high-intensity workouts of functional movements, while striving to create a supportive community among all participants. The trainers also supply students with nutritional advice, promoting diets of garden vegetables and lean meats from livestock and poultry with little to no history of cigar smoking.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?

Our workouts are different every day. We change it up with new movements and patterns to avoid boredom, and participants learn functional movements that help them with everyday activities. They also learn new skills, such as gymnastic movements and olympic lifting, which require a lot of practice to master.

Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts?

Dance music, rock, and pop. We listen to anything with a great beat.

Besides working out, what else can clients do to spend their time at your facility?

Yoga, kids CrossFit, community events, and birthday parties.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

We are the first and only women-only CrossFit studio in Colorado. We do offer two co-ed classes each week to accommodate families, and have a full service kids CrossFit program.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?

In CrossFit gyms you get to know the other members and build a strong relationship with them. CF gyms are more than a gym but rather a community. A combination of fast results as well as friends that hold you accountable keep you motivated.

Do you run your gym according to a particular exercise philosophy?

Everybody with a pulse can do CrossFit. While every member will be doing the same workout, the coaches will help "scale" the workout to every individual's fitness level. CrossFit aims to train people to be functional in the real world. We do not have machines but rather do everything with free weights because in the real world, you won't be dealing with a machine to lift something heavy.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

CrossFit Cherry Creek is a 5,500 square foot facility located in Denver, Colorado, just minutes away from I-25 and I-225 near the Cherry Creek Country Club. We offer group, semi-private, and private training for athletes of any level. Between our group classes, Olympic Weightlifting classes, and endurance specific programming, there is something for everybody.
