Students' faces shine with pride as they cross the stage at Studio C's dance recital, gracefully showing off their ballet, jazz, and tap steps. The annual recital showcases skills honed through weeks of study at the Studio C dance school, where highly trained and experienced instructors conduct a variety of classes for kids of all ages. Upon the facility's four professional dance floors, the teachers lead leotard-clad young ladies in dance and cheerleading techniques and guide young gentlemen in hip-hop lessons. In addition to dance training, instructors strive to foster a sense of self-esteem, responsibility, and teamwork in their students.
After youngsters have left for the day, the studio opens its floors to adult Zumba classes. It's walls echo with spicy Latin music as instructor Debbi Georgevitch directs students through energetic, dance-infused workouts.
Though students at Fit or Fight's gym are only required to wear standard workout clothes and a mouthpiece, they might sometimes find themselves sporting MMA gloves, shin guards, and hand-wraps. That's because, in keeping with its name, the studio places almost equal emphasis on exercise as it does self-defense skills. This doesn't mean that students are required to fight?rather, the gym provides much of its training to boost strength and endurance or make users more intimidating if they ever run for public office. The studio offers 12 programs, ranging from general fitness?such as Zumba and cardio kickboxing?to intensive sessions in no-gi jujitsu, boxing, and MMA wrestling for youth or adults. In every program, clients are encouraged to work at their own pace while training as much as possible both on and off the mat.

A full roster of classes includes Zumba, yoga, and interval-training sessions, and the brigade of seasoned certified personal trainers customize workouts, drawing from experience in such fields as running, health science, and bodybuilding. With onsite showers and a whirlpool, the gym helps workouts and relaxation fit into busy days.
High-energy Zumba classes and relaxing hot-stone massages collide at This Way Ladies Fitness & Wellness Center, a one-stop shop for women looking to release sweat and tension. Fitness instructors lead strength-building kettlebell classes only a stone's throw from the spa room, where specialists perform facials and ensconce feet in warming paraffin. Outdoor boot camps take the action to Francis Park, where participants test their speed, agility, and ability to resist roving hot-dog vendors.
